FMS #415 - Sketch by Narelle

Hello everyone, I'm back this week for the latest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches

I went really simple on my take of the sketch.
Using a single color family from Altenew Oval Ink pads - Green Meadows.  Along with 80lb white cardstock with a card base in Dark Gray.  All of these products come from Altenew.com

The star of my card is, of course, the Plentiful Pines with a few of the Enamel Dots in Rock Collection.  Creating a tree in the background, behind the tree with more color to it is a great way to highlight the main object in any art.  I hope you enjoy my card, and I can't wait to see what the other challengers create.  Huge thanks to Freshly Made Sketches for giving us something to look forward to each week, with cardmaking!

Looking to expand your talents and learn new techniques, check out these classes available only at Altenew Academy.

This will be my final challenge submission of the year.  Next year, I will be making improvements to my blog, the content, and artistry that I'm involved in. Challenges are always my favorite, but I will be branching out my art in other avenues, as well as some of the bible study work I've focused on during this year. I want to make my blog exciting, fun and sharing daily posts can help readers to enjoy it fully.

God Bless and thanks for stopping by
Eva

FMS198 a sketch by Cindy L

Okay.. you know the deal, I'm checking out FMS today and Cindy has an outstanding sketch for us.
So I went to work and here's what I've come up with!
I've got some older(ish) stamps from Simon Says Stamp.

and some card stock from Simon too... and stuff from Stampin' Up! too

I started by cutting my cardstock, white 120lb two pieces, and my base, in Fog Gray and the Bazzill Velvet (strip of Purple) on a background of Midnight (Black). I stamped my images in Memento Black.  My other ink is Blackberry Bliss and Smoky Slate from Stampin' Up! and my sequins are Simon Says Stamp Assorted Moonshine (Clear, mixed sizes) . Of course I could not make a card, without a splash of Wink of Stella, which I painted onto the strips on the second layer (see the stripes on the left side) ohh it sparkles, perfect!

At the last minute, I decided to add a ribbon closure, and I think it finishes it off perfectly!

okay... so its Saturday.. and late or early depending on how you're looking at it.. its 12:31 am and while I thought I was tired enough to go to sleep... I found myself wide awake and back at my crafty space.... after checking a few things, I started looking at challenges... I mean really what else can a crafty person do at 12:31 am ... anyway here's what I've come up with I hope you like it

I recently picked up some bottle cap crafty stuffs and when I saw the sketch and saw that it said any shape... well now that got me thinking! I could do a necklace for a child who's had a bad day... with a keepsake gift, the bear stamp Circle Friends from Simon Says Stamp in a bottle cap! I've a few layers of craftiness from Doodlebug paper pad and some cardstock from Stampin' Up!  I threw in some Wink of Stella as a splatter in the background... and added three beetle black sequin from Doodlebug to finish it off!

It was super fun and so quick and easy to make this card... that I have no doubt would make the day of any child having a bad day!

FMS178 - Sketch by Narrelle

Love the simple sketch Narelle did over at Freshly Made Sketches!

For my card I used the Project Life by Stampin' Up! Little Moments Card Collection and Accessory Pack, along with Circle Collection of Framelits. I used bits from the kits to create my take on the sketch, including Wood Elements and Sequins and Candy Dots.
My card is on a So Saffron cardbase with Whisper White layering and the 2013-2015 In Color Background DSP Stack, in Pistachio Pudding polka dots. Linen Thread was added to complete the look with the diaper pins (wood elements) from Little Moments.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!

FMS177 A sketch by Karren

Ok so its late Saturday night... and I just saw Karren's sketch!!! Its a must do!
So I went to work right away and this is what I've come up with... I hope you like it!

I started with the butterfly vellum from Sheer Perfection from Stampin' Up!  Then I went to work on the butterfly for my focal point... and used plain vellum with a butterfly die cut on the back...
I've got Whisper White, Basic Black, Basic Gray and So Saffron cardstock. My old fav Yippee Skippee Stamp set as my sentiment ... and Dotty Angles on my layer.
Throw in some sequins and boom!!! Gorg!

Today I've got my card for FMS and Cindy's Sketch

While I was chatting with Justin on Hangouts, we we're talking about the challenges going on this week and of course Freshly Made Sketches came up... I mean come on... whats not to love about Cindy's sketch, right?

I started by following the size suggestion on the sketch which is 4 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches
I used Whisper White cardstock as my base, and added Something Borrowed dsp , and Blackberry Bliss ribbon all from Stampin' Up!
Then I used my big shot on the awesome dies: Wishing and Woodland Rectangular Frame from and gold sequins Simon Says Stamp.
The Wishing die was done in Gold Foil and the Frame was in Blackberry Bliss. (from SU)

I didn't scallop cut my dsp because the flowers had a natural scallop in the pattern.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the design!
Have an awesome weekend!

and as always

Saw the sketch by Cindy L. and knew I had to give it a try...
but first here are a few pics from this weekend!

So we had Charlie (Bill's brother) and his girls over night on Saturday, we went out for dinner and have a wonderful time and on Sunday we drove out to Camp 18 (OREGON)  again only this time for breakfast! Everyone loved it! Thanks for coming to see us... and I hope to see you again soon!

Me and Butter

and here's my card for FMS174

I have a Natural White Cardstock, along with Something Borrowed DSP. I used my Butterflies Thinlits on Gold Foil Sheets, with Linen Thread behind the thinlit. I also added my new favorite Jute ribbon as my diagonal element and added the stunning new Lovely Amazing You photopolymer sentiment named after the set, in Chocolate Chip ink! Last but not least I had to throw some pearls in... the dsp is too pretty not to have some bling (aside from the Gold Foil Butterfly).

Here is a close up of the hammering technique I did on my butterflies thinlits!

Well I hope you've enjoyed my card today... and thanks again Cindy L for a great sketch!
