CYCI#137

We survived the first week of Homeschool (which is actually online school) and I am excited to see how next week is going to go! Butter is in Middle school now and has seven different instructors, one for each subject plus homeroom! The grands are all back to school as well!

Let's get this party started!

Amber selected the CYCI colors this week and I was so excited to give them a try!
I busted out my FSJ products: I used River Stone for the Gray,  Sweet Berry for Flamingo and Ken Oliver Chartreuse! I used two different stamp sets to get what I was looking for, with Damask Print as my main image and a sentiment from Creature Comforts.
I created a couple of small banners for layering, and tada, I have a smashing design!

I hope you have a wonderful week

Until next time

CYCI#127 Color Challenge

Welcome back!
Even though all of the newest Design Team Members started last week!!!
I wanted to take this time and thank them for joining the rest of us, crazy artists!
Each of them has a unique talent for colors, design, style, and imagination!
I look forward to this half of the year, and can't wait to see what is next to come!

Amber, Char, Deb, Jeanne, Jessie, Josefine, Kayla, Kim and Rose
I am ever so grateful, thank you, my friends!

On to the challenge of the week!

I started by using some Color Burst by Ken Oliver on some of his Water-Media paper
Along with a Thinking of you stamp from Crafting Desert Divas, which I heat embossed in Stampendous Opaque powder!  I also wanted some shimmer so I added some Spectrum Sparkle to the layer! :) I used a brush on the area around the sentiment and a paper towel to blot the top areas!
I used some woodgrain paper from Simon Says Stamp with the Fun Stampers Journey Chevron Stencil, which I used glossy paste from Ranger!

Gus is adorable & was my helper!
He's loved the card and the treat he got for being the best helper ever!

My finished touches were so much fun lots and lots of Fun Stampers Journey Black Licorice Thread, Star frame elements colored with the new and fabulous Electric Lime Silks and SIP NY Hamptons Ice sequins!

CYCI#124 Watercolor Challenge!

Kept this week simple, and yet stunning!
Started by using Ken Oliver's Color Burst on vellum, and add a bit of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold to it!
I added a layer of white cardstock under so you could enjoy the beautiful reds, oranges, and gold tones!  Next, I matted those layers onto a black and white layer, which I used Simon Says Stamp Rectangle Stitched dies on, then placed it on my cardbase.  I was going through my tags and whatnots and found the "hi: in a bag... lol! Which is now missing... (note to self: clear desk) Moving on I added some sequins from Doodlebug to finish off my card!

I hope that you will join us for this incredible challenge!

Until next time

One for the hubby

here is the card I'm going to give the hubby for Father's day!

I posted it on IG a bit ago, after I finished.... but wanted to share on the blog...

It's top secret so mums the word!
I started by creating what I wanted to say on my computer and printed it out on watercolor paper from Crafters Companion!

Up next I busted out the Ken Oliver Color Burst in various colors!
I let layer after layer of color dry, being very careful not to mess up my sentiment!

I threw in dashes (lots) of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold!

I layered the wc paper on chipboard to give it strength and added it to a cardbase (A2 size)!

Other than the color and twine, I tried to keep the card simple, and let the colors shine!

I hope he is gonna like it...

Until next time!

Coffee and YNS

Had another chance to do a little crafting over the past few days... It feels awesome!

Today's card is using Your Next Stamp
Here is YNS Coffee Right Meow!

I made the kitty a bit scruffy, due to the lack of coffee feeling!
I used my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolors!
I used Ken Oliver's Water-Media paper which I love, not joking totally love it!
I also used some Echo Park pattern paper called Anything Goes :) .
For the finishing touch, I added  a bit of Hemptique twine.

Until next time

CYCI#121 SOA Birthday Wishes

Oh Sunday how I love you! Cause it's time for a new challenge at CYCI!

On my card today, I started with my SOA by Catherine Pooler (Stamp of Approval) Sweat Pea - Enchanted Garden and matching dies, along with one of the sentiments!

I used my Zig CCRB watercolors in Yellow #050, Lt Brown #061, Lilac #083 and Violet #080. I added a few Doodlebug sequins in Purple, and some gold thread I picked up from Joann's.

For my cardstock, I've got Simon Black and 120# Thick white.

I tried a new type of paper today from Ken Oliver; it's called Water-Media paper, and I got ten sheets of 6x6 for under four bucks at Blitsy here is the link to Blitsy!!!

Dawn selected the colors for this week, and while they challenged me, I think I did well!
I hope you will join us!

Until next time
