Altenew 8th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 5 + Giveaway (over $2,000 in Total Prizes)

For day 5,  I thought I'd share a little something special! I created a box set of 4 1/4 square cards. I used the amazing Lace Doily Die from Altenew. I used the watercolor paper pad 9 by 12, its a beautiful soft cold press paper that is perfect for all of your projects.  I used the Watercolor Brush Markers Spring Garden for coloring each of the four designs (click on the images to see all of the detail). 



A card set is always a lovely gift for friends and family!  I made the box too! I chose different parts of the Lacy Doily die to create different patterns with them. 


I used the Rubellite Watercolor Brush Marker directly onto the watercolor paper, which allowed me to have control on how it moved around. These are blank note cards. I used 80 lb. cardstock for the note card layers and bases. 

I used the Dusk Watercolor Brush Marker, love the light and dark weave together!

I used the Emerald Watercolor Brush Marker with most of it dark, with just a bit of light in it! 

I used the Midnight Violet Watercolor Brush Marker gave me some gorgeous color hues.

Altenew Educators "Favorite Old/New Altenew Stamp" Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway


I hope you enjoyed visiting with Roteja Galvan and now its my turn to share. 

We're back with another hop with the Educators.  Its been a pleasure to hop with so many talented people. Altenew Educator Program helped me to be a better card maker, paper craft artist and I hope you will check out the program available here: Altenew Certified Educator Program. 

I went with cards for the gals, one more women of any age and one for a young girl or teen. 
My old and new favs are the Label Love and the Leaf Border die, I hope you will enjoy the blog hop.

I loved the mix of the favorites, I've always loved Label Love stamp set, it was the very first stamp I purchased from Altenew, it wasn't my last. The Leafy Border Die is my new fav!  I used Frayed Leaf Cardstock and added Green Fields Oval inks to give it more depth.  



The layers on my first card are always a great look.  The White cardstock with a simple 1/4 reveal onto lifted onto a full A2 cardbase is a great layout. But the florals are the show stopper. 



Them Build A Flower: Sakura Blossom just brings everything together. Inked with Red Cosmos for the blooms and Happy Birthday sentiment  make it a subtle beauty. 


No card is complete without some bling and a beautiful sentiment, the Make Today Beautiful is inked in Obsidian Black. I loved this card so much when I finished it.

My second card was a personal challenge, could I make another card with the items above and make it totally different, yes of course I could.  This time I started by adding one additional piece to the puzzle. The Rounded Rectangles Die was perfect. 


I started by stamping the bloom onto my cardstock, using the two lightest shades from Red Cosmos in a repeating pattern. Then I die cut it with the Rounded Rectangles die. 


I colored the Leafy Border Die in Cotton Candy mini ink cube. It give a mid tone to the Red Cosmos inks.  Also made two of the Build A Flower: Sakura Blossom the circle dots in Obsidian ink to add to the retro feel. To complete this card I added a few Red Cosmos Enamel Dots, using the Hearts.  Made with 80 lbs. White cardstock,

Altenew Educator "For the Love of Flowers" Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway


Hello and welcome to my very first blog hop with Altenew, as an Altenew Certified Educator! You should have arrived here from Nancy McClelland's blog, but if not the link list is below or you can visit Altenewblog.com.

Just a little about me, I love being a participant of the Altenew Educator Certification Program and being certified is beyond my dreams. The Coordinators were amazing, as are the class instructors.  The classes never expire and you can take each class at your pace.  They even have a few free classes to get you started. As you may have guessed by now our hop theme is for the love of flowers. I chose both traditional and contemporary styles of florals. That's the best part of loving Altenew products, they have something for everyone! 



Let's start with my contemporary card.
I started by using the Bold Floral Drape stamp set, in the Sweet Dreams Oval Ink collection.
I used the Sweet Dream Ink, to layer each of the images onto the card front by overlapping each of them until my 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 (A2) card was filled.  Then I die cut it with the incredible Pegboard Canvas Cover Die. 



With the sentiment from the More Than Words stamp set in Obsidian Black Ink, on white cardstock. Along with Golden Edge Washi. Behind the Bold Floral Drape, is a layer of Navy cardstock which completes this card beautifully!  




My more traditional card.
This is a classic beauty, with simple lines and elegance. Like the first card, I used the Sweet Dreams Oval Ink collection. Peony Bouquet is one of those stamp sets everyone must have in their collection from Altenew.  I used its various stamps in the set to complement the gorgeous floral image.
Again I used the same More than Words stamp set in Obsidian Black ink for my sentiment. It's a great way to tie the cards together, even if they are completely different in styles. The same goes for the Golden Edge washi tape.  Finally, the Lagoon cardstock is incredible and matches perfectly with the Sweet Dreams inks!
