#FMS421

Hello and welcome back to the blog.  Today was kinda one of those days, I've been dealing with a lot of back, hip and knee paid lately.  No matter how I sat I just couldn't get it to let up. So I wound up taking some pain meds, which for me is a big deal. I got to my desk just long enough to create something wonderful to share.  Thank God for this! Keeping it short today. On to the card for today.

I started off by picking another stamp from Altenew's Poppy Garden (I love this set so much) and going to Freshly Made Sketches to see what the sketch of the week was. Jen M. made this really cool sketch #FMS421 with a circle (any shape) and a square with rounded corners. So to fit the sketch I draw an outline with one side round and the other square.  I colored the poppy in with Copics in YR09 and YR27and fussy cut it. I stamped the smaller image in the background along with a Silver glitter pen and some paint splatters in the background.  The sentiment is from Best Sentiments. 80lb White cardstock and Obsidian Black ink were also used on today's card.

Hello and welcome back to the blog. Today I've got my take on the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, but will get to that in just a moment.  First up, the day was crazy, I didn't get much sleep last night napped too long and too late! So today I only got a few hours of sleep.  However, I did manage to crafty chat with Jeanne, convince the hubby to take me to Home Depot to look at the cost for the back porch (it's more of a landing with 2 steps), but I need to start working on a sketch to explain to him what I'm thinking so we can go from there. The porch is going to cost about 600.00 but we have some of the materials already which makes it that much easier.  Anywho... Onto today's card!

This week at Freshly Made Sketches Jen T has a fabulous sketch for us.  So I used the equally fabulous Paint A Flower: Poppy stamp set from Altenew. Along with one piece of a print from their Reflection paper pad. I've been waiting for the perfect sketch to come along to use the graphic print, along with the right imagery to make it pop.  Along with some of my favorite Copic alcohol markers and Obsidian Black ink. Hello and welcome back.  Well, today was fun, chatting with friends, hanging out with my hubby and tomorrow is my 52nd birthday. I am really looking forward to all of the amazing days ahead during the coming year.  As a maker, I find days bring more joy, when it is shared with others, who like me are like-minded and love art, the Lord and friendship.  While I don't have as much time for Facebook as I've done in the past, this year will be full of wonderful things to share. As promised, tomorrow I will be sharing some of the pours I've done during this past week. A great way to celebrate my birthday.  

Today the blog is all about the fabulous challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. For their #419, Lee Ann has given us a fun sketch to play with our favorite stamp products.  All of the products used today are from Altenew. I used Pretty Pansiesstamp set as my focal point and Botanical Silhouettes stamp set for the background in Morning Frost ink, and for the sentiment Stay Beautiful in Obsidian Black ink.  

Other products I used where Enamel Dots in Green Fields and Rock Collection.  The ink colors used for the Pansy are Glacier Caves. The beautiful blue-purple tones were a great fit.  The leaves were done in Green Fields.  The cardstock is Real Gray and 80lb White.  I can't thank you all for supporting my blog.

Hello and welcome back to the blog!  Today I am sharing a card for my favorite challenge Freshly Made Sketches!  But before I get to the challenge, I gotta say yesterday was interesting and today my shoulder is feeling much better, but still has a long way to go. I was chatting with Jeanne and saying how we need to do a vlog about what happens while we crafty chat, lol! Some things are better left unsaid.  Just to let you in a bit, I complain about not have the latest and greatest and how I used to be a show-off, and how I felt like an ass.  What happens in a crafty chat, doesn't always stay in the chat! lol.  Jeanne is my bestie and totally understands me. I'm damn lucky to call her friend!

FMSChallenges #418 is from Jacquie this week.  So you may notice that my coloring is different than normal. Since the shoulder isn't 100% yet, I thought I'd go old school, and color only the outlines of the images for my floral from Simon Says Stamp its called Center Cut Flowers. I used Prisma Colored Pencils in Aquamarine, Chartreuse, Sunburst Yellow, and Process Red. Along with a Stitched Circle die from my stash and Lemon Yellow and Obsidian Black inks from Altenew.  I didn't have a die, for the shape, but I thought the stamp was very reminiscent of the sketch for the challenge.  I also took the leftover colored piece and made it into a bookmark for my bible.

Here is just the card I made for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #418.  I love coloring the lines.  I did leave a few of the images, plain. To show just how beautiful  the image is with just a touch of color. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti, God is good stamp set.

Here's the other side, of my bookmark with another stamp in the same Reverse Confetti stamp set. Using the same Lemon Yellow from Altenew, I wiped the oval ink pad all over the cardstock. 

Yesterday's Bible verse of the day was thought-provoking, I thought I'd share it with you. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction. Joshua 7:12

Well, that's it for today, every day God gives me the gift of crafting, love, family, and friendship and I am grateful to him.  As the verse about says,  we need to let go of the things that we don't need and focus on that which makes us better. Amen
