January 29 2020

Hello and welcome back to the blog! Today was a very interesting day, Bible study went very well,  I made breakfast during the week and I made two cards again.  First here a couple of pictures I shared on my FB page.

Up first is my tassel project. I saw online Bibles that had tassels so I decided that with our current book,  the 5 minute Bible study - for the Anxious Heart and before I retired this study bible and get my year-long bible. Which I may not start until 2021. But I've got handmade and store-bought tassels. Here is my last video of me making bookmarks and a tassel.  I use floss for them, which I got from Amazon .

Thought I'd share the photo I shot of myself today as well, it was taken to update my FB page.

Finally on today's card.  I'm loving how the second card turned out. Yup, you heard it second!  I used the die cuts, for my card below leftover from my first card that somehow moved during die-cutting. BAH! Ah well, I got a twofer! I used the amazing Poppy Garden from Altenew stamp in Obsidian Black, heat set and gradient of color with the Red Cosmos inks for the main background.  Overall I love the simple design of the card, but it was not where I was going.

Here was my original idea, of a simple shaker card with minimal imagery and lots of color and negative space from the die cuts. But as I stated the die moved during the cutting process and went wonky on me.  I finished the card as an example, how easily die-cutting can go wrong. I added lots of shaker bits from Pretty Pink Posh.

Anyway, I'm done for today. I hope you like the cards and my tassels on my study Bible. Somedays life is easy and you forget to thank the Lord for all he has given you. Change that today! Pray for the good in the world, in your life and love the Lord our God with all your heart. Amen

:)

January 27 2020

Hello and welcome back. Me and Jeane crafty chatted while I made these cards, and see made some too!  I love to chat with her for hours. We always make the most creative things while catching up. Let's see what I've made.

The first card is with the Altenew Succulents stamp set. Along with the sentiment from Sincere Greetings and behind it is Watercolor Frames. The cardstock is real gray, along with inks in Obsidian Black, Evening Gray, Deep Iris, Forest Glades, and Aqualicous. I also used some Simon Says Stamp on the layer under my stamped images. It's called Stitched Rectangles.  I put the ink pads onto a piece of plastic along with water to smudge onto my cardstock in the inked areas and repeated the process until I got a look I loved. 80lb White cardstock for the layers and base.

The final card for the days is more about how I was feeling today.  A beautiful print from Bo Bunny "Count the Ways", I picked two different styles to show off their beauty.  Then grabbed my sentiment from Altenew's Bad Days Happen stamp set.  The Story Book 2 die I'm using is from Pretty Pink Posh. Along with a bit of Obsidian black ink. 110 lb Base card

Well that's it for today, see you tomorrow.
:)

January 22 2020

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today like many other days before it was good.  Bill and I ran to Wally's and got some food for the boys *Gus n Russ*. Their food tote was running low. I was looking at all the dog dishes, they were so cute, one of them said "Good Boy"!  We went looking at frying pans, as our last one has died! The coating was flaking off, so it had to go. However replacing it will be about 50 bucks, do you know how many stamps I could get with 50 bucks... that was the look on my face while looking at the prices, lol!  Bible study was also very good today too, we read more about Moses, the pharaoh, and freedom for his peoples. Our God is a loving and divine god. I am grateful for his love. Let's get to the card for today.

Shaker card time! I found one of the Altenew stamp sets that I hadn't used yet and made today's card with it. Sew with Love is a great stamp set, it has a matching die, but I didn't use that today.
For my ink, I used 3 of the darker Red Cosmos oval inks, Greed Fields (its a staple) and Obsidian Black, which is becoming my favorite ink to use for sentiments.  I also used 80lb and 110lb White cardstock. Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Dies for the top layer.

Next, you'll see all the bits for the shaker. Pretty Pink Posh has so many amazing seed beads and droplets to add to your cards. I used clear and white pieces so they wouldn't block the image too much. I also used some of my DoodleBug sequins in pinks and greens to match my card colors.
In the top image, you can see the sentiment, but on the bottom image you can't, I love that!  A hidden message is always a treat when it comes to shaker cards.

Well, that's about it for today. I hope you will check out my cards on IG and FB and don't forget to follow or friend me. Tomorrow I will be sharing some pours that I came up with. I really enjoyed making today's card.  Don't forget to follow me, using the link on my homepage.
Have an incredible day, and God bless.
:)

In the Mood for Color AECP L2

Today's card is all about simple color that wows!

I've chosen to go simple and clean for this class.
From a red to orange then yellow-colored images to create a statement.

Starting with the awesome Painted Butterflies stamp set, and sentiment in Jet Black ink.
To color my images I used the Autumn Blaze oval ink pad for the middle image and my Artist markers from sets A and B for the others. Set A R318 and Set B Y05.
The cardstock had to be just as clean so classic 80lbs White and Jet Black were perfect.
A small addition of 5 small sequins finished the card nicely.

Thanks for stopping by

Hello - Easy Ink Blending

Hello

Hi, I'm back today with a fabulous card. I learned how to use easy techniques to get the blending just the way you want it.  Amy Lee has an amazing way with color, I love each of the lessons. My favorite was how to blend by adding a layer at a time, here's my project for this class.

Getting this class is super easy, register at Altenew Academy!

I started by grabbing some Strathmore hot press watercolor paper and cut it down to A2 size which is 5 1/2 by 4 1/4. On Altenew 110# cardstock I used Shades of Purple ink cubes for the blending on my background and on my stamped layer as well I selected Frosted Garden because it's one of my favs. For my main layer, I also used Rock Collection and Green Fields and Frayed Leaf too! My hello die is from the Flower Arrangement set and I added a touch of vellum with the Handmade Tags dies.  To complete my card I added the scallop die cut from Lawn Fawn, Some clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh and some of the enamel dots from Altenew. The green twine is from American Crafts.

On a personal note, I made it through my 3rd day of no Facebook or Instagram, woohoo!
I didn't include blogging because I knew I would need a way to upload my work for my Altenew Educator requirements!

Until next time

CYCI#123 Color Challenge - Challenging

This was one of those challenges... you know.. the know the ones that stump you! Ya, that kind!
Well, the colors were selected by Elizabeth this week, yup... I love her... and how she really made me work for it! Hugs!!  Anywho... on to the challenge!

So as I thought about the challenge, I was inspired by a friend who's been there since I started making beautiful cards and a few ugly ones too... One of my crafty friends who just happens to live all the way on the other side of the country!   Justin recently opened his own store called SIP (Stamp Ink Paper) in New York! I had to get some of the cool stuff's he has in stock! Check it out... here's what I got

Lots of goodies, and I also picked a few of his personal sequins mixes!
Yum!!!

The Little Bitty Bag from YNS offered an opportunity to put something inside,
so I went with SIP's Hamptons Ice, which is a crystal clear 2mm sequins!
I mean who wouldn't love sparkly sequins? Right!!!

okay... so let's get to what I used in today's card!

Hero Arts Spring Hello THDC#01

Okay so I found a new challenge... just starting! So I thought I'd put a little something together!

I used my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolor on wc paper. I started by selecting my Spring Hello stamp set from Hero Arts.  The colors from the challenge are so pretty, here take a look!
I used my gift card envelope die from May's HA kit.  I finsihed it off with 4mm dropplets from Pretty Pink Posh!

I also did a simple flower on the closure side of the mini envy!
AC has some wonferful twine, so I added a bit of that in blue!

Like I said.. super simple!

Until next time!

SOA and lots of fun

Well, it arrived today and just in time for a quick break from my class...
and a little chit chat with Justin on Skype!

I really enjoyed catching up with him, just about anything and everything!
While I was chatting I told him about my new Stamp of Approval from Catherine Pooler,
order that arrived today and we both agreed its fabulous!
I totally loved the first stamp that I'm using on my card today!

Up first is the beautiful Gina K. design exclusive set Beautiful World and it is GORG!!!

I decided to go with a bit of whimsy with Ken Oliver's Color Burst in Chartreuse, tapping gently on the bottle to release the color powder. I also used a bit for painting in parts of the flower graphic, which was stamped in Stazon black.

I cut the black "You" die and along with MFT Stamps Sour Apple card stock using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies.

The last thing I did was put my layers together and add some cute 4mm droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

I totally love the way my card turned out and I can't wait to see what else I can come up with the other goodies for the kit!

Until next time

PCCCS168 a Sketch by Crystal

Hey This week we have another awesome sketch at Paper Craft Crew, by Crystal.

Here's my design team card :)

I used my Scan N Cut for the candy cane and snowflakes and even the craft cardstock layer with rounded corners. lol .... I love it!  I added some Pretty Pink Posh clear seed beads to my candy cane not as a shaker... yup its new to me too! I glued down the bits so that the entire area of each opening would have some glam to it. Next I added some simple touches, like a clear button, natural thread and black cardstock to bring all of the elements together. My sentiment of choice was Ho Ho Ho, from Stampin' Up! Good Greetings above a simple white cardstock strip. I loved the sketch, and I hope you do too! Don't forget to join us this week.

Until next time

PPA267 Fall in watercolor

Today's card is for the Paper Players
with their Clean and Simple Leaves challenge!

Its been a while since I've done one of the challenges at the Paper Players... so when my friend Andrea said they had CAS and Leaves challenge I had to give it a try!

I did two little leaves using the Lawn Cuts Stitched Leaves on Spectrum Noir watercolor paper.

I used my cease pad, so that my leaves didn't cut all the way through, so I could pop up the outter edges with a mini foam tape square. I used some of my favorite fall colors, Gold Wink of Stella, Stampin' Up! reInker's Daffodil Delight, Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze on the leaves, and splattered it on the background. Then came the sentiment, which is from Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes, which has my favorite stamp "Thanks" which was done in Tim Holtz distress ink tea dye and then outlined in gold WOS.
I mounted the watercolor layer onto some craft cardstock and
added 5 droplets from Pretty Pink Posh  to finish it off.

My Friend

Hey I'm back... I've been having trouble putting my cards together in the past couple of days!
But it seems like some of the mojo is back... hopefully! Most of my crafty friends know flowers are not my normal stamp type... but I'm glad I chose them for my project today.

I started on my card today by taking out my new roll of white birch wood tape from Arc Crafts, which I laid on a piece of cardstock, and stamped in Stazon Black. I actually bought this wood tape for some Christmas cards I'm making for an upcoming Craft Bazaar.

I really love how it looked on the crisp white cardstock, along with Simon Says Stamp Flowers on my Mind stamp set. I did the flowers in SSS Pale Blush Pink, and Memento Black.  Once it was dry to the touch, I run it through my big shot with my SSS Rectangle stitched dies. Final touches were some white twine and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.   My cardstock today is from Simon Says Stamp its thick cardstock which is a 120lbs, and awesome for card bases...

Joining along in this week's challenge over at Pals Paper Arts

I did adjust the sketch a bit, mostly flipped it.. but I think it looks fabulous!

Until next time...

Butter started the new school yesterday, and while we are having to start at the beginning on many of the subjects, we are very happy that ORVA could enroll him so quickly! :) More updates on that later this week!

I've got just a few more weeks until my classes start for this fall.. and I'm getting really excited about returning to continue my education as well...  I've been working closely with advisors and others in the financial aid department to nail all the details so I can order my books and whatnot on time!

Anyway... on to today's post

Back and today I've got some of latest products from MFT and Lawn Fawn too

I started by coloring in my adorable elf, who is part of the My Favorite Things stamp set aptly named  Santa's Elves! This set comes with three adorable elves, three sentiments and eight additional stamps that will make you smile every time you use them! They are that freakin' cute!!!

The paper pad in the background comes from Lawn Fawn, "let's bokeh in the snow" in a 6 x 6.

I've got some sprinkles from Doodlebug in white, charcoal twine from AC and clear Sequins and Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh! I used my circle stitched dies from Simon Says Stamp too!

Of course I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color in my little elf, who just had to have read hair like Butter's!  The cardstock accents are Doodlebug and Stampin' Up!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Until next time!
