Rosy Outlook - The Spot Challenge #104

Hello and welcome back to the blog! It has been a week, a lot of staying home, keeping ourselves busy and staying healthy!  With CoVid 19 keeping us on lockdown, we can only thank the Lord, that we aren't sick.  So I want to start today's post with a quick prayer.

Heavenly Father, please give us the strength to perfect our weakness.
Give us comfort in our hour of need. Amen

Now, onto the work at hand!  The Spot has a sketch challenge this week!
Of course, I've got two cards for everyone today, one for the Spot challenge, and one for fun! Let's see what I used to create my card for this week's challenge.

All of the products I am using are from Altenew.com

I loved the sketch, but it came with challenges for a person, who normally only uses up to 2 layers. I grabbed some of the products I normally keep on my desk, the Rosy Outlook stamp and die set was just one of the items. I used the Tea Party and Green Fields Oval Ink Collections for all of the images.  The sentiment is in Obsidian Black Ink.

I also added some Dark Gray Cardstock and 80lb White Cardstock to give the sketch the clean look that I love so much!

The Essentials Black and White paper pack has so many incredible designs, it was hard to pick. But this simple line one went with perfectly.

The sentiment is from the Mini stamp Best Sentiments, it's very similar to Label Love, which I why I love it so much! In Obsidian Black ink of course!

My second card

Has many of the same products with one difference, I didn't use the Essential Black and White paper pack, instead, I used the Bubble Wrap Stencil.  For this, I used the Lightest shade of gray from the Rock Collection oval inks in - Limestone.

I added a 1/4 strip on the left side of the card and moved my images to the center towards the top of the card.

Overall I love how this card turned out. It's a personal favorite of mine.

Anywho, I hope you will check out the challenge at The Spot, you can click on the challenge image and the link will take you to their site!

Have a great day, God bless my friends
Eva

March 2 2020

Hello and welcome to the blog! Today is a hard day, most of this week will be the same way, and on Thursday my daughter and her hubby are moving out of our home and into a place of their very own.  So most of the weekend went to boxing and packing all of the things my kid has here.  So the house is a wreck and sorry I just don't have a card to share.  However, I did manage to make two quick n small comfy blankies for my grands, did a bit of water coloring (see below) and watched a couple of movies, since I can't really get to my desk at the moment.

Using Watercolor Brush Markers - Winter Wonderland set and the brand new Paint A Flower: Rose from Altenew I managed to create this fabulous piece. I'm sure at some point I will either frame it or put it onto a cardbase!

I mixed up a lot of the colors in the Winter Wonderland set to get the colors the way I wanted.  It still needs some splatters, but maybe when I get my office space cleaned up after the move.

Posts this week will be short and sweet. But my schedule should be back to normal afterward.
Heavenly father thank you for everything! We are blessed.

February 21 2020

Hello and welcome to the blog! I'm Eva Bussom, fellow blogger, artist, and fur mom! lol!
I managed to do another live today! Fridays are my favorite days of the week. The teenager doesn't have school, I get to sleep in a bit before getting ready for Bible study, and I normally have a quiet morning.  It is so nice just to relax and let the day happen as it will.  One there is going to be a bit of a change to the blog, I will no longer be blogging on the weekends. I have to give that time to my family, who without their support I couldn't do what I love to do, which is to write and create!  I took another step today and put away my painting supplies. As I continue to pair down my crafty stash to something more manageable and meaningful. I can't hold onto all the things I own, so the likes and loves are going into different categories. I've decided to keep my Altenew, Pretty Pink Post Scrapbook, Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp products and donate the rest. It's going to be lots of work, but I know when I get into the new space and get it just how I want, it will be incredible to know what I have and where it's at!

On to today's card. I created this live on Facebook. ITa simple card with a main stamped image which is the Mega Greetings with Thanks and Hello and smaller sentiments that work amazingly with them, I used Obsidian Black ink for it. Also using Garden Silhouette in Rock Collection which is gray tones, and Heart Beat from the Tea Party collection of inks from Altenew. You can find my video here https://www.facebook.com/evabussom/videos/10221345809530137/ I hope you enjoy it.

Here are the links to what I used for this card.

Cardstock 80lb White
Before typing this up, the hubby and I were watching some TV and I realized that only the dogs were using the couch!  These boys love being comfy! They are so adorably lazy, lol! I love them so much!

Well that it for today. I'll see you tomorrow. God is always guiding us to him, through everything we do... so do it for the right reasons!

February 1 2020

Hello and welcome back to the blog.  Well, we did it, made it through January 2020, only 11 months to go. When I started this blog project it was for me many things. I wanted to see if I could get through each day by sharing the things I love. It's about more than just crafting. It's about everything going on in my life. It's about the things that matter most to me.  In a nutshell, it's about my growth as a person. Taking each day as it comes, never failing to live up to the possibilities, that life offers if you only seek it. Along with the mercy from God, my heavenly father, I seek grace, passion, to look for the things that aren't visible. But to trust that which cannot be seen, and still give each day the best outcome possible.

Crafting is only a part of who I am, I wish it was more, but alas we humans are complicated things.  My Christianity gives me hope to see what is and so much more. Grace be to God!

Today's project is a simple 1 layer card.  Using the Floral Art stamp set from Altenew. Click on the banner below to visit them and get one for yourself. As an Altenew Educator, I feel sharing the best products is helpful in many ways, first offering you quick and clean cards that can be recreated. Giving you links to explore their shop. I hope you love the card as much as I do.

The colors in my card are Obsidian Black, Industrial Diamond, and Citrus Burst. On White 80lb cardstock for my card base.

Here's a little close-up of the amazing stamp set, in simple but striking colors.
I love the font used in their stamps, it reminds me of freehand writing.

Please join me Monday-Friday on my Facebook page at 8am MT for my bible study.

As some of you know the affiliate links I share helps to support my family. Please take a moment to see if your favorite shop is listed on the right. I will soon have a page with all of the shops that I am affiliated with.  Have an amazing day, and God bless you!

January 31 2020

Just gonna start today's post with a Happy Mail hello!  Yup, it's true I got some happy mail, that I ordered from Altenew's new release for January 2020! First the Bold Floral Drape stamp set and the Framed Thanks Die.  I had so much fun, I didn't waste any time, I jumped right into creating with them.

The first card is full of color in Pink Pearl, Sunkissed, Coral Berry and Frosty Pink for the background color of the image. I used some Gold cardstock for the Framed Thanks die, I love the simple and fabulous look. I added a white card base and was done. 110 lb Neenah solar white cardstock was also used.  You can get all of the supplies I'm sharing today at Altenew.com and so much more!

Close up shot of the die, which is elegant and stunning!

Okay, so I did a colorful one so I had to create a black and white one for my second card for the day.  I chose Birch Wood paper for the Framed Thanks Die for this card. I love how it looks.

A close up us the Birch Wood on the Framed Thanks Die-cut.

Well thats it, I'm not sure I'm done with this stamp set yet, you may see it again very soon! But for now, I'm done. I know it was a quick post for today! But not everyday was exciting as others.   God bless.

January 24 2020

Hello and welcome back.  Well, today was fun, chatting with friends, hanging out with my hubby and tomorrow is my 52nd birthday. I am really looking forward to all of the amazing days ahead during the coming year.  As a maker, I find days bring more joy, when it is shared with others, who like me are like-minded and love art, the Lord and friendship.  While I don't have as much time for Facebook as I've done in the past, this year will be full of wonderful things to share. As promised, tomorrow I will be sharing some of the pours I've done during this past week. A great way to celebrate my birthday.

Today the blog is all about the fabulous challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. For their #419, Lee Ann has given us a fun sketch to play with our favorite stamp products.  All of the products used today are from Altenew. I used Pretty Pansiesstamp set as my focal point and Botanical Silhouettes stamp set for the background in Morning Frost ink, and for the sentiment Stay Beautiful in Obsidian Black ink.

Other products I used where Enamel Dots in Green Fields and Rock Collection.  The ink colors used for the Pansy are Glacier Caves. The beautiful blue-purple tones were a great fit.  The leaves were done in Green Fields.  The cardstock is Real Gray and 80lb White.  I can't thank you all for supporting my blog.

January 18 2020

Hello and welcome back... Before I get to my card today, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to leave comments and for your visits too!  Starting a new blog project isn't easy.  But I'm about to make it harder. For the past few months, I've been slowly moving away from FB other than for my daily bible study at 8am MT.  I check the family page and a select few others that really mean something to me, but for the most part, I've not been on as I have in the past.  I hope you will understand.  This decision was not made likely. I've been praying on the matter for some time now.  You can find me on IG at instagram.com/evabussom    Anywho on to today's project.

I love this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp  - Everything together. It's a fabulous stamp with some great sentiments. Like most of my stamp collection, two years later I'm just now getting around to using it. lol.  I used many ink pads from Altenew to get that fabulous color in the background.  I love rainbows. Kinda miss them being in the south, you just don't see them as often, as we did when we lived up north.  The black ink is Obsidian Black from Altenew as well.

Here are the colors I used in the background. From top to bottom: Red Cosmos, Orange Cream, Citrus Burst, Bamboo, Forest Glades, Aqualicious, and Deep Iris.

Well thats it for today. I hope you will leave a comment of what you think.
May the Lord shine his grace down on you! Amen
