AECP Level 3 Virtual Class and Final Exam

Welcome back to my blog. I've got something really special to share today! I've completed all of the requirements for the AECP! Woohoo!!!

There are so many incredibly talented folks teaching every class, but most of all I want to thank both Virginia and Erum for getting me to this point. Their kindness and care makes this adventure more wonderful than words can explain. So, thank you ladies, for everything!

My Final Exam aka Level 3 AECP

Card 1 

Products Used:

Floral Shadow Stamp set

Spring Daisy Stamp Set

Label Love Stamp Set

Artist Markers, Sets A and B

Forest Glades Oval Ink Pad

Permanent Black Oval Ink Pad

Jet Black and White card stock

With either stamp positioning tool or block – stamp the leaves from Floral Shadow on to your paper 4 times, to create an X Like figure. You will be using Forest Glades Oval Ink Pad on White 80lbs card stock 4” by 5 ½ “. Using the second piece of white card stock (4 ¼” by 5 ½“) stamp the selected images from Spring Daisy and Label Love. Please give yourself enough room to fussy cut between the images.  Color the images with the Artist Markers either using the 2 step or three-step process. This will take a bit of time, so please share the Artist Markers. If you need additional time, please let me know. Finishing steps, start with the leafy layer placing it on top of the Jet Black cardstock with the right edge exposing the Jet Black cardstock. Then begin adding floral images starting with the largest, then the single leaf and the opening bud. Complete your card with the sentiment from Label Love. Look at the top image for placing images or make it your own! The finished card will be 4 ¼ by 5 ½.

Build A Flower: Gardenia stamp set

Sentiment Strips stamp set

Mid- Century Frame Die

Green Fields Oval Ink Pads

Red Cosmos Oval Ink Pads

Gold, Jet Black, and White card stock

Permanent Black Oval Ink Pad

We start by trimming a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5 ¼. Then stamp two leaves onto that piece of cardstock. For this part of the project, we only use two of the stamp layers. Ink them using Green Fields (solid image) and Forest Glades (detailed layer) from the Green Fields Collection. Add your Jet Black layer behind the leaf layer, creating a nice frame to center your leaf layer. Start the Gardenia by using the layers as laid out. Each layering stamp will be on top of the ink color for that layer. Then at the opposite end, stamp your sentiment of choice from the Sentiment Strips stamp set. Use the die-cutting machine to cut out the Build A Flower: Gardenia image after you have finished stamping all four layers. Also cut the sentiment as well, adding flags or a straight finish to the ends of your strip. Add foam adhesive to the back of your Gardenia die cut and sentiment strip.  Next, you will need the Mid-Century Frame Die Cut which is precut for you in Gold Foil. We are ready to assemble the card. Add Altenew adhesive tape to the back of the die-cut and center it on the leaves. Finishing steps: we will now add the rest of the pieces, adding the floral die-cut, then our sentiment. The finished card will be 4 ¼ by 5 ½. 

Card 3

Products Used:

Flower Vine Stamp Set

Bad Days Happen Stamp Set

Artist Marker – Y205 Warm Sunshine

Permanent Black Oval Ink Pad

White Cardstock 80lb

White Cardstock 110lb

Start by using the largest image from the Flower Vine stamp set on each corner, making sure that you don’t overlap the images. Use permanent black ink along with a stamp block for this step. 

Add sentiment from Bad Days Happen stamp set in permanent black ink in the center of the cardstock. We will be using stamp blocks for this step.  Select any color of your choosing from Artist Markers set A or B, and color the outside area of the images. Be careful not to color inside the images; I used a white gel pen for touch-ups. Add finished card front to 110lb card base and enjoy! The finished card will be 4 ¼ by 5 ½.

Final Project AECP Level 2 part 2

Welcome back, today I am sharing my final project for Level 2 at Altenew Educator Certification Program.  For the assignment, I was asked to create an Upcycled Project.  I had an old clock that neither I nor my husband liked, so I thought it would be a great way to give a new look to an old clock.

Here is the finished piece I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I chose Masking Unleashed, Beyond Basic Backgrounds, and Polychromatic as my classes to create my project.

Let's move on to how I created it. 

TIP: Before I began I knew I would need some masks, so I removed all of the stamps from the index sheet and ran it through my scanner and printed a couple of copies. 

Next I fussy cut the main outline image to use on my project.  I had a few old ones done in post its, so I grabbed those too! You can never have enough masks when you create!

Inks: Permanent Black, Sweet Leaf, Just Green, Dew Drops, Aqualicious, Dusk

Stamp: Build a Flower: Gardenia

Stencil: Grid

Paper: Our Family Kit (Blue/Green 12x12 print)

Other items: Acetate Butterflies Die Cuts, Iridescent Ink Spray, Cool Summer Nights Enamel Dots, Altenew Glue Tape, A liquid adhesive for the butterflies! 

Well, I finally had a plan and got started stamping the first image.  Jet Black ink came in handy to give me clear stamped images. 

 Then the second... with the mask I made from printer paper, as explained in my tip!
You can also see the pencil outline of my circle which I needed to fit into the clock. 

Finally all three of the stamped images from the Build a Flower: Gardenia stamp set was coming together very nicely. 

 This is my first layer of color in Dew Drops and then Aqualicouis.

 Followed up with my center flower top layer in Dusk ink color. 

 I've gotten the mask back on to complete the images. 

 While I didn't free hand stamp perfectly,  I loved how it looked at this point in the project. 

Then I began with the process of stamping the leaves.

My images are all done. 

The big view of the project to this point... However, this is when I noticed something was off, and stopped the project, and started it again. 

Ah, back on track and creating the way I like, clean and neat!

Here is a close up of where I messed up on the leaves, I bumped the stamp and it went wonky!

Here is a close up of the stamped image in the center, with Ink Sprays in Iridescent. 

Finally, here is the finished Upcycled clock! You can see that I've added two butterflies, from the Acetate Die Cuts: Butterflies and lots of Cool Summer Nights Enamel Dots for the hour marks.

Final Project AECP Level 2 part 1

Hello and Welcome to part 1 of my level 2 project for the Altenew Educator Certification Program.

First of all, I just want to thank Erum and Virginia for their guidance in the program.

Here are my cards along with information on how they were made.

I made these thinking of the one person who I love the most, my sweet husband Bill.

Anniversary Card

This card began with me using the Fine Frames Rectangle die on an adhesive sheet. 

Then I laid out the graphic design. 

Next, I grabbed the Family Matter stamp set from my sentiment. 

I stamped it on Vellum, with an 80lb white cardstock underlayment.

I heat embossed in clear over Jet Black ink.

I thought the card was clean and fresh, but very neutral. 

Birthday Card 

I started by grabbing some black cardstock and the  Reflections Paper Pack. 

Then I picked out the Striped Leaf cover die and ran in through my die-cutting machine.

Adding some adhesive foam to lift the cover die up from the Reflections print I picked. 

Finally, I die cut the 5 and 7 from the Bold Numbers die and inked Label Love in Forest Glades.

It came together fab and with plenty of time before the hubbies birthday this winter!

Encouragement Card 

This card took lots of colors to get it just so. I used Dusk, Deep Iris, Vineyard Berry, and Olive. 

Next, is the vellum which I used on the Leaf Canopy die.  It totally gives it a bit of a fun layer!

Finally, I added the fabulous Sentiment Strips with tiny sequins from my stash. Finishing it off on some Turquoise cardstock.  

 Love Card

Wanted to say my hubby's fav color is RED, so I had to make one in his color!

The print is from the Reflections Paper Pack! 

Next,  I took out the Splatter Stencil, and use Heart Beat ink on it to take it to that next level!

Finally, I added the image and sentiment from Coffee with a Splash, to complete the look.

Always good to have a stash of love cards!

When I shared the cards with my husband he was proud to be a part of the project.

With a Twist AECP L2

Welcome Back!

I've got a pop of color for you today, thanks to the "With a Twist" class over at Altenew!
This is one of those classes, where you learn so much!

Here's my card

 I used the Dearest Friend stamp set from Altenew.
Stamping for the background and popped up images.
Then coloring them, in a clean and simple design.
Yellows with a touch of Gray, using a combo of Artist Markers and Copics.
AM - C001 from set B and CM Y19 and N1

Next comes the sentiment, the cardstock is Real Gray using one of the sentiments in Dearest Friend.

While I thought about adding some sequins, I chose not too, to let every inch of the design shine.

I want to thank my family and friends for supporting me throughout this journey.
I know I had some detours along the way, but I know that my Mother in heaven would have wanted me to finish what I had started.

In the Mood for Color AECP L2

Today's card is all about simple color that wows!

I've chosen to go simple and clean for this class.
From a red to orange then yellow-colored images to create a statement.

Starting with the awesome Painted Butterflies stamp set, and sentiment in Jet Black ink.
To color my images I used the Autumn Blaze oval ink pad for the middle image and my Artist markers from sets A and B for the others. Set A R318 and Set B Y05.
The cardstock had to be just as clean so classic 80lbs White and Jet Black were perfect.
A small addition of 5 small sequins finished the card nicely.

AECP - Masking Unleashed

I'm back again for another project

I have been slowly working my way back to full steam ahead on my Level 2 (AECP)

Masking unleashed was an incredible class, so much fun and perfect for the everyday crafter, like me!

As you can see I've got lots going on for my card.

There are three of Daisy's and a bunch of leaves. 

Masking hasn't been hard for me, it's making sure you cut on the stamped line vs out of the line.

Using the watercolor 36 half pan set, my project shines from top to bottom.

Spring Daisy stamp set is totally awesome.

In the close up you can see that I've got some images on top of the vellum, while most are behind the vellum which gives it a soft look and feel. 

Don't you just love the Sentiment Strips, they work for most cards and is a must-have set in your stash!

I used white 80# cardstock, watercolor cardstock, Spring Daisy Stamp set, 36 half pan Watercolor set from Altenew.  I did include the Friend Die from Simon Says Stamp.
