February 5 2020

Hello and welcome back to the blog. I did a destashing today. I have a full box that is going to goodwill.  I was amazed at how much stuff I had that I never even opened. So today's post is all about the things we have but never use.  Yesterday I shared my take on Bleeding hearts, and today I will be using another die from that set.  But first I wanted to share with you, how wonderful it was to pull all of my Bible study books, writing tools, and accessories together. I have older books I've read, but aren't letting go of the resource (cough HORDER) and some stuff that I had other plans for, but will be using this year. I wish that I had a small planner meant for bible study. Someone needs to make one just for that! In a box somewhere lost in the house, I have a pencil bag full of writing tools for my study materials. Ah well... someday I'll find that box!  On to the card I made.
My Raskog never looked better!

I dug deep for the products on my card today.  The heart & roses die is from Simon Says Stamp, it was released back in 2015 lol... told you that I was digging deep! You have to love dies, but they can get underutilized after a short time.  Also, I have a circle under the heart, which is the Half-toned Circle Nesting dies from Altenew. The Hello and little red heart are also from Altenew, they are part of the Envelope Liner die set. The scallop circle is from a company that went out of business, but I love it anyway. The sentiment is from Altenew's Sentiment Strips, which has so many amazing sayings. The cardstock is also from my stash, the Plaid and Copper Glitter papers are from Joann's and the Jet Black, White, and Real Gray are from Altenew. I also used my Obsidian Black ink pad from Altenew.

Here's a close up of the layers.

Thats it for today!  I hope you have an incredible today! God bless you.
:)

January 27 2020

Hello and welcome back. Me and Jeane crafty chatted while I made these cards, and see made some too!  I love to chat with her for hours. We always make the most creative things while catching up. Let's see what I've made.

The first card is with the Altenew Succulents stamp set. Along with the sentiment from Sincere Greetings and behind it is Watercolor Frames. The cardstock is real gray, along with inks in Obsidian Black, Evening Gray, Deep Iris, Forest Glades, and Aqualicous. I also used some Simon Says Stamp on the layer under my stamped images. It's called Stitched Rectangles.  I put the ink pads onto a piece of plastic along with water to smudge onto my cardstock in the inked areas and repeated the process until I got a look I loved. 80lb White cardstock for the layers and base.

The final card for the days is more about how I was feeling today.  A beautiful print from Bo Bunny "Count the Ways", I picked two different styles to show off their beauty.  Then grabbed my sentiment from Altenew's Bad Days Happen stamp set.  The Story Book 2 die I'm using is from Pretty Pink Posh. Along with a bit of Obsidian black ink. 110 lb Base card

Well that's it for today, see you tomorrow.
:)

January 18 2020

Hello and welcome back... Before I get to my card today, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to leave comments and for your visits too!  Starting a new blog project isn't easy.  But I'm about to make it harder. For the past few months, I've been slowly moving away from FB other than for my daily bible study at 8am MT.  I check the family page and a select few others that really mean something to me, but for the most part, I've not been on as I have in the past.  I hope you will understand.  This decision was not made likely. I've been praying on the matter for some time now.  You can find me on IG at instagram.com/evabussom    Anywho on to today's project.

I love this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp  - Everything together. It's a fabulous stamp with some great sentiments. Like most of my stamp collection, two years later I'm just now getting around to using it. lol.  I used many ink pads from Altenew to get that fabulous color in the background.  I love rainbows. Kinda miss them being in the south, you just don't see them as often, as we did when we lived up north.  The black ink is Obsidian Black from Altenew as well.

Here are the colors I used in the background. From top to bottom: Red Cosmos, Orange Cream, Citrus Burst, Bamboo, Forest Glades, Aqualicious, and Deep Iris.

Well thats it for today. I hope you will leave a comment of what you think.
May the Lord shine his grace down on you! Amen

AECP - Masking Unleashed

I'm back again for another project

I have been slowly working my way back to full steam ahead on my Level 2 (AECP)
Masking unleashed was an incredible class, so much fun and perfect for the everyday crafter, like me!

As you can see I've got lots going on for my card.
There are three of Daisy's and a bunch of leaves.

Masking hasn't been hard for me, it's making sure you cut on the stamped line vs out of the line.
Using the watercolor 36 half pan set, my project shines from top to bottom.
Spring Daisy stamp set is totally awesome.

In the close up you can see that I've got some images on top of the vellum, while most are behind the vellum which gives it a soft look and feel.

Don't you just love the Sentiment Strips, they work for most cards and is a must-have set in your stash!

I used white 80# cardstock, watercolor cardstock, Spring Daisy Stamp set, 36 half pan Watercolor set from Altenew.  I did include the Friend Die from Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for stopping by
Eva

Missing you Hello

When I started on this card, I knew that I needed or wanted it to be a 5 by 7 card! All too often I make A2 which is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 sized! Not today!  Altenew was the brand that I grabbed, along with a few essentials from my stash.

Layers 2
Hello Card

I started with a layer of 5 by 4 inches stamping my florals on with Floral Arrangement.  used my favorite Red Cosmos and Green Fields on the bigger images and Summer Afternoon in the smaller ones.  I love how there are three sizes of flowers in Floral Arrangement.  From the matching die set, I used some basic black cardstock from my stash for the Hello Die-cut. Next, I grabbed some vellum, photo corners, and my stapler.  I knew I wanted more than just hello, so I selected the Missing You stamp from Label Love stamp set, in Coral Berry, don't ya just love it!  Offsetting the main layer onto the cardbase which is in Simon Says Stamp 120lbs cardstock. I love how pretty it turned out!

Until next time,
Eva

SIP121 Tic Tac Toe - Hello

Hi everyone I'm back again for the latest challenge at SIP! I found it to be a bit more challenging than normal!  Since you have to have all of the elements in your design... well I went for the Leaf, Wood and Vellum option!  Funny story, I had everything on my desk and was ready to get crafty, so here's what I came up with!

I used Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves, Simon Says Stamp Hello Painted Die, ARC Crafts Wood Veneer!

I started by die cutting 3 leaves and 5 hello dies!
I did the leaves with Angora Watercolor, in green, red, orange, brown and yellow.
The hello die was stacked and glued to create some depth.
I added a simple gold square to anchor my design. Lastly, I ass just a touch of Gold silk!

Here's a side shot of my card :)

Thanks again for visiting my blog

CYCI#130 A Birthday(Sketch) Challenge

This week the challenge got real interesting... You have the choice of using the sketch or not! Yup!

Now with the sketch, you can use any shape you'd like to and the freestyle, you can, of course, use anything, as long as it's a birthday card! How cool is that?

Well, I went with the sketch, so here's my card for www.canyoucaseit.com this week!

I cut all my circles with Sizzix dies, some bright Sprinkles, and  used my Doodlebug pattern paper Hip Hip Horray. For my cardstock I used Simon Says Stamp 120# think white and Fun Stampers Journey Whipped Cream.  For the number, I used MFT Stamps Lemon Drop cs. The celebrate die is a gift I received from my cousin Tammy and is Tim Holtz!

Super simple and fun birthday card!
I hope you will join us this week!

Until next time

CYCI#128 Sketch Challenge

Wow, what an adventurous week we got to visit our favorite spot on the coast and Gus loved it!
He was all wags and wonder...  That was great to bring him finally along with us on a trip out to Cannon Beach Oregon, which is one of our favorite spots! We got to stop at the candy store, yummy!

AnyWho... on to the challenge for the week!

For this sketch, I used mostly Fun Stampers Journey products, along with a die from Gina Marie and a stencil from Simon Says Stamp.
I used the fabulous and fun Sweet Pear, Lemon Grass and Oatmeal Cookie, along with Whipped Cream and some Gold Silk!  For my sentiment and stamp image, I pulled out Creature Comforts. I did the little beaver (which is Oregon's state animal) and colored with my Spectrum Noir in browns!
I also used my crimper to give that 1/4 stripe a bit of texture.  Now the stencil give the paper some interest with the Sweet Pear!  Finishing off my design with some Thread in Natural!

I know you'll enjoy the challenge, so stop on by and join in!
Until next time

CYCI#124 Watercolor Challenge!

Kept this week simple, and yet stunning!
Started by using Ken Oliver's Color Burst on vellum, and add a bit of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold to it!
I added a layer of white cardstock under so you could enjoy the beautiful reds, oranges, and gold tones!  Next, I matted those layers onto a black and white layer, which I used Simon Says Stamp Rectangle Stitched dies on, then placed it on my cardbase.  I was going through my tags and whatnots and found the "hi: in a bag... lol! Which is now missing... (note to self: clear desk) Moving on I added some sequins from Doodlebug to finish off my card!

I hope that you will join us for this incredible challenge!

Until next time

SIP Store NY and LF

Just a really quick post before bed tonight!
I wanted to share on of the many cards I've made recently.. just haven't found the time to blog

Today's card is featuring a few Lawn Fawn stamps and dies, that I ordered from Justin's store  Stamp, Ink, Paper which just happens to be located across the country in New York state (I'm near Portland Oregon).

I used cardstock from MFT Stamps, and used Simon Says Stamp Rectangle Stitched dies for my top layer and SSS #120 thick white for my base!

I used the Stinkin' Cute stamp set and matching die and Sun & Moon dies, Simple Puffy Clouds and the matching Frames set as well.

I used both my Journey Platinum and Crafters Companion - Diamon Press for cutting my pieces for this card!
I used a bunch of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, their new Sparkle pen in clear as well and a Signo White gel pen! The sequins used with from SIP (clear) and SSS (multi-colored).

Until next time,
Eva

CYCI#123 Color Challenge - Challenging

This was one of those challenges... you know.. the know the ones that stump you! Ya, that kind!
Well, the colors were selected by Elizabeth this week, yup... I love her... and how she really made me work for it! Hugs!!  Anywho... on to the challenge!

So as I thought about the challenge, I was inspired by a friend who's been there since I started making beautiful cards and a few ugly ones too... One of my crafty friends who just happens to live all the way on the other side of the country!   Justin recently opened his own store called SIP (Stamp Ink Paper) in New York! I had to get some of the cool stuff's he has in stock! Check it out... here's what I got

Lots of goodies, and I also picked a few of his personal sequins mixes!
Yum!!!

The Little Bitty Bag from YNS offered an opportunity to put something inside,
so I went with SIP's Hamptons Ice, which is a crystal clear 2mm sequins!
I mean who wouldn't love sparkly sequins? Right!!!

okay... so let's get to what I used in today's card!

Altenew - Label Love
Simon Says Stamp - Painted Thanks die, 120# thick white cardstock, Stitched Rectangle Dies
Stampin' Up! - White Twine, Real Red and Night of Navy reInkers
Doodlebug - Sprinkles
Richard Garay - Amazing Dots
You Next Stamp - White Kraft Little Bitty Bags
Pretty Pink Posh - Metalic Stars
Memento - Tux Black Ink

Featuring SIP - 4mm Clear Sequins

Well that's it
Until next time

CYCI#122 Sketch Challenge

OKokok............  So I totally love this little submarine!
When I first saw it I thought of the Beatles, lol... cause that's how I think!
So yup, it had to be yellow!!!

I start by coloring my FSJ - An Adventure stamp with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers, in yellows and grays! I did some bubbles on in in white gel pen and added some Ranger Glossy Accents on the portholes! I went through my cardstock and picked out this lovely yellow called Lemon Drop from MFT Stamps. My Pattern paper is from Doodlebugs - Anchors Aweigh (it comes in 6 x6). I jumped over to the matching sentiment "Make it an Adventure", but didn't want a plain look for it, and I had just gotten my Craftin Desert, they just release this set of Flag Banner Dies, which was perfect! For my accents, I added Doodlebug Sprinkles in Yellow and a bit of white twine!

Until next time

Hippo Ice Cream CDD

Decided to work on another digi today :)

I started by printing out my Hippo Ice Cream on watercolor paper, I let the ink from the printer dry for about ten minutes!  That gave me enough time to select my colors,  I went with the summer colors, bright yellows, orange and some pink too!  The background color was done in three parts, each drying for about 5 minutes in between.  On the hippo herself, I use just a touch of gray and lots of Wink of Stella clear!  After it dried, I use the big shot with the large scallop die from Fancy Frames (CDD)! !  I added a few pieces if sequins in pixie dust!

I added a layer of fun foam in pink :) gives it a bit more depth and so much cuter!

Well that's it for now.. Until next time
Eva

Global Design Project #037 Colour Challenge

Had a bit of time tonight so I thought I'd go GDP's challenge a try!
I mixed my reInkers (Colors from Challenge) on my mat and laid watercolor paper on it. Next, I found a sentiment, from Simon Says Stamp, set called Hello Beautiful... which I heat embossed with Stampendous Opaque powder and added triple knotted natural twine as my accent!

That's it!

Until next time

Digi Card CDD

'ello Monday!

Today at Craftin Desert Divas they've got some new digi stamps (digital images) and when I saw this Bunny in a hot air balloon, with hearts, clouds and a bird... I knew I had to have it!

Here's the link directly to the product at CDD... now don't fall over... but it's only 99 cents!
The best thing about Digi's is that you can make them any size you need, teenie tiny, or a full sheet at 8 1/2 by 11.

I did mine a bit bigger than a card front, 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 so that I could use my CDD Fancy Frames dies on it. I colored my image before cutting it down to fit the big shot, and framed out the area I loved!
Crafters companion - watercolor paper, Simon Says Stamp 120# cardstock as my cardbase
 and Zig CCRB watercolor pens
I also used the Wishful thoughts stamp set, for my sentiments... The cool thing is all of these products are available at the same place!

Well, that's all for now...

Until next time

I tried a new type of paper today from Ken Oliver; it's called Water-Media paper, and I got ten sheets of 6x6 for under four bucks at Blitsy here is the link to Blitsy!!!

Dawn selected the colors for this week, and while they challenged me, I think I did well!

Mama Elephant a first

Yup.. it's true, this is my very first Mama Elephant stamp set, and believe me when I say, it was no easy task getting my hands on it!

I started this Monday night around 7.. and just finished it...
I feel really proud of this one, I don't normally do flowery type of cards, but like I said this stamp was calling me!

Mama Elephant - Organic Blooms stamp set
Simon Says Stamp -  Friend Die and 120# cardstock
Crafters Campion - Watercolor paper
Zig - Clean Color Real Brush watercolor pens
Hemptique - Natural Cord

Under my watercolor paper, I've added a layer of foam
to help stabilize my watercolor paper, which tends to ripple with this much color applied.

Well I hope to find some additional time this week, in between life to have a bit of fun and create something beautiful!

Until next time
Eva
