Digi Card CDD

'ello Monday!

Today at Craftin Desert Divas they've got some new digi stamps (digital images) and when I saw this Bunny in a hot air balloon, with hearts, clouds and a bird... I knew I had to have it!

Here's the link directly to the product at CDD... now don't fall over... but it's only 99 cents!
The best thing about Digi's is that you can make them any size you need, teenie tiny, or a full sheet at 8 1/2 by 11.

I did mine a bit bigger than a card front, 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 so that I could use my CDD Fancy Frames dies on it. I colored my image before cutting it down to fit the big shot, and framed out the area I loved!
Crafters companion - watercolor paper, Simon Says Stamp 120# cardstock as my cardbase
 and Zig CCRB watercolor pens
I also used the Wishful thoughts stamp set, for my sentiments... The cool thing is all of these products are available at the same place!

Well, that's all for now...

Until next time

Mama Elephant a first

Yup.. it's true, this is my very first Mama Elephant stamp set, and believe me when I say, it was no easy task getting my hands on it!

I started this Monday night around 7.. and just finished it...
I feel really proud of this one, I don't normally do flowery type of cards, but like I said this stamp was calling me!

Mama Elephant - Organic Blooms stamp set
Simon Says Stamp -  Friend Die and 120# cardstock
Crafters Campion - Watercolor paper
Zig - Clean Color Real Brush watercolor pens
Hemptique - Natural Cord

Under my watercolor paper, I've added a layer of foam
to help stabilize my watercolor paper, which tends to ripple with this much color applied.

Well I hope to find some additional time this week, in between life to have a bit of fun and create something beautiful!

Until next time

CYCI#116 A Sketch Challenge

Wow.. I'm back from Illinois, and I had a blast!!! William and I got to spend time with family and it was awesome! The best news that happened while I was there is that my mom can finally start therapy to walk again after her fall and break last fall. My cousin Tammy was a great friend to let us stay with her, we had a blast, making cards, playing games and catching up.  On the other hand, it is great to be home and getting ready for another term at school!

Anyway.. on to this weeks challenge

Elizabeth did this week sketch and I totally love all the detail!

While I was chatting with Tammy on Skype I was making my color selections...
and decided to go with pinks! :) They are fun and happy!

I used a tag die from Crafters Companion that works on their new Diamond Press!

Once I laid out how I wanted the top layer to look, I went to work on the shaker parts.
I used Zig RCCB in pinks and lots of beautiful sequins from Craftin' Desert Divas -Spring Time Flower Power mix. For the bows, I grabbed my Doodlebug Chunky Twine!  Layering it onto a pink cardstock base from MFT Stamps.  The Hi sentiment is from Paper Smooches - Scripty Sayings.

Until next time

Well now... when I saw the colors over at GDP I had to give it a try!

I also added some SU white cotton ribbon and three Doodlebug Orange, Matte Sprinkles.
I used watercolor paper, chocolate from MFT Stamps, and 120# white from SSS.

I hope you like my card

CYCI#106 A Sketch Challenge by Elizabeth

Wow... I can't believe how quickly my week off of school went! Grades are in and I got the A I was expecting! Woohoo.... 4.0 for my first term! Phycology starts on Monday and I am so excited to see what that class has in store for me!  Any who... Today's sketch is from Elizabeth, she did an exceptional job on it too!

I went straight to my paper stack stash to see what I could work with on this card!
The Studio Calico's Wanderlust collection was perfect!

I love blues and greens together, I made a simple but fun birthday card for a kiddo!
I added the freebie stamp set I got from Simon Says Stamp - Birthday Celebrate which has the super cute Elephant on it, the birthday sentiment and lots of others to keep it useful all year long.
Next I took out my Simon Stitched Rectangle dies, and some acetate for the shaker portion of my card.  I colored in the Elephant with Zig Clean Color watercolors.  Some black thread and one sprinkle for the hat! I'm using 120# white cardstock for the base, a bit of Doodlebug dolphin and watercolor paper too! The last thing I added was Little Things from Lucy's Cards in Atmosphere and Snowdrift which I mixed together, along with a bit of Simon's seed beads!

I hope you'll like my card and that you will join us at CYCI for another week of fun!!!

Until next time!

CYCI#99 Favorite Christmas Colors

Hey... have you ever wondered what everyone's favorite Christmas colors where?
Well so did we!
CanYouCaseIt.com has the best challenge this week,
share a card with your favorite color combo for Christmas!

My favorite is wintery blues and bright greens! Taking back old school today!
I remember as a kid, my Tia, had these glass ornaments  in Ice blue, Turquoise, and bright greens. She had the basics too, Gold, and Silver. But that combo always reminds me of the incredible times I had growing up, and visiting her house!

Today I'm doing a simple watercolor wash and some sparkle with a touch of wonder!
My stamp comes from Fun Stampers Journey, it's called Merry and Bright! I fell in love with this stamp back in October and waited... a long long long time to use! lol...
In crafty time that was forever!

I've got my Zig Clean Color Real Brush and I did the main part of coloring, in 031, 040, 041 and 091
Then I did my splatter with my Gold Wink of Stella. Then I used a dash of  Heidi Swapp White Color Shine and Mr Huey's White for a bit of a snow effect, the two together make a for an awesome combo!
After drying with my heat tool, I ran my wc cardstock through the big shot with the cutest dies ever!!! Craftin Desert Divas has their line of dies, and I recently purchased their Fancy Frames! Its so awesome!
The final touch was to add some thread in Black to give my card a cute bow!

don't forget to check out CanYouCaseIt.com and our challenge this week!

Until next time,
Eva

Stamps and Papers make the card

Mash up... Unity stamps with Taylored Expressions paper pack!

I started by stamping my snowmen onto Post-it tape with Stazon
to create masks for the three guys in the front, who just happen to be from the little frosty friends set from Unity Stamp Co. and fussy cut them out!

Then I pulled out my watercolor paper and stamped all my guys out, and fussy cut around the group!

I grabbed my 12 pack of Zig Clean Color real brush watercolors, and went to work.
While my guys were drying I went through my paper pads and loved Taylored Expressions; Build a Scene Christmas paper pack, the stripes against the colors on my snowmen. I added a center bit that was left over from a shaker I did recently and stamped it with the winter Wonderland from like a snowman, also from Unity.
I added a layer of black cardstock to my 120lbs cardbase both from Simon Says Stamp, and
to finish it off, I added a tiny bow in white twine.

Until next time,
Eva

CYCI#85 A Color Challenge

Hey welcome back to another Sunday...
its the last free Sunday before another school year starts,
and we are enjoying the last lazy weekend!

We've got another all new challenge from CanYouCaseIt.com

I went with water coloring for this weeks challenge!
and I really enjoyed it too... here's the dets!

That awesome yellow cardbase is actually a white card base that I washed the edges in a super bright yellow.. pretty cool huh?  Just remember you don't always have to have the correct color cardstock (not that I didn't) you can make it yourself, with some patience and a bit of hard work and fun! I used  Bazzill White for this card.

Next was the water coloring layer.. I started by coloring the blue circle shape.. Which I used an old glue dots cardboard as a guide... yep... and gave it a quick wash.. being careful to keep the color bright and vivid!  My Zig Clean Color real brush watercolor pens can in super handy to get the colors just how I wanted them. Next was the leaf... which I did again on watercolor paper, and washed it in browns and yellows to get the finished look you see.  Then I ran it through my big shot with Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves. After it dried I applied a bit (super thin layer) of Ranger Glossy Accents on it, which dried in no time.

I added the sentiment "Thank you" from Simon Says Stamp - Flowers On My Mind in a dark brown.
My final touch was adding some Doodlebug (yep you knew it would be in there somewhere, tehe). Which I cut using SSS die called Medium Dot Line Wafer Die.  Then I layered them to really get some dimension from it.

until next time...
Eva

Snow Angels

okay... I got the idea in my head to do a shaker...  my new stamp set by Unity Stamp Co. called Make Snow Angels and some of my fun sequins!
I used one of the sleeves from Simon Says... which is perfect to use along with a sewing machine. I have a craft (kiddie sized) sewing machine, that I use only for paper!  As you can see... I'm not the best, but not the worst at it! LMAO!!!  Anyway... I used my Zig Clean Color watercolor set, on watercolor paper and lots of Stazon ink so it won't run!   The sequins is a mix of Simon Says Moonshine, Martha Stewart Blueberry Slush, and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear (flat). I think its a great way to showcase something fun...
Until next time
