I'm always checking in on Freshly Made Sketches for some inspiration. I was completely blown away by Kim's sketch this week! Totally loved it I had to make something for this sketch challenge!

Today I've started by using the brand-new stamp set part of the January 2021 release called Airbrushed Flowers. I did them in Cool Summer Nights, Green Fields, Rock Collection and Pocket of Sunshine ink collections. 

I've been in love with the newest washi tape as well, its called Delicate Stripes!

Lastly for the sentiment today, Circled Sentiments, in Pure Graphite oval ink! 

The cardbase is 110lb Neenah Solar white. 

Well this blog was short and sweet, it is a beautiful card. I will enjoy this sketch for a long time to come!

Hello and welcome back to the blog. Today the internet was intermittent and instead of waiting for it, Bill and I got out of the house for a bit.  We found an old gift card to Outback, and figured we give it a try. We had a nice time for an early Valentine's outing.  The internet is still acting up, so hopefully, it will start working properly again.  I did a live on Facebook, that was fun! I'm out of practice, so it took a lot longer than I thought it would, but the more I do, the better they will get. 

On to today's card.  FMS#422

 So I've got a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Linda's sketch is amazing. You should check it out!  I started with the Mega Hello Die, in Forest Glades cardstock. Along with the Essential Rock Collection paper pack. I chose a subtle print to go behind the Hello die and added a layer of Vellum on top. Then I grabbed some of the Floral Flurries Washi Tape and layered it onto white cardstock. Fuzzy cut the images out and placed them onto the vellum. I also added a smaller "Hello" sentiment from Sentiment Stripes.  I love the fun look of the card. I always love how FMS comes up with amazing sketches.

FMS #415 - Sketch by Narelle

Hello everyone, I'm back this week for the latest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches 

I went really simple on my take of the sketch.

Using a single color family from Altenew Oval Ink pads - Green Meadows.  Along with 80lb white cardstock with a card base in Dark Gray.  All of these products come from Altenew.com

The star of my card is, of course, the Plentiful Pines with a few of the Enamel Dots in Rock Collection.  Creating a tree in the background, behind the tree with more color to it is a great way to highlight the main object in any art.  I hope you enjoy my card, and I can't wait to see what the other challengers create.  Huge thanks to Freshly Made Sketches for giving us something to look forward to each week, with cardmaking!

Freshly Made Sketches #411

Hello everyone.. I'm back with another challenge submission.

FMS has a cute sketch by Kim this week!

My card is all about being subtle, with the focus on Friendship. 

Let's talk about how I created it.

I began by adding a strip of masking paper about an inch across and ran it the width of my card.

Then with my ink from the Rock Collection, I stamped once and removed the mask and stamped again using the remaining ink, giving a vellum layer effect.  This is a one layer card.

Here are the products that I've used on today's card.

Starting with Mega Greetings in Limestone Ink. Then I grabbed Mini Atlas for the sentiment Friend and Mini Hello for the leaves and dot floral. I finally got my hands on the Obsidian Black Ink from Altenew; I've gotta say it is pretty fabulous.. giving me a clean stamped image. While it's intention is for watercolor it can be your everyday ink, for beautiful black ink. I also used Pink Pearl and Sea Glass for the other images.

Freshly Made Sketches # 408

Hi, everyone, I know it's been a while since my last post, but I've been busy finishing up my Certification at AECP. But I'm all but done and couldn't pass up the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week, with a super clean sketch by Jen T.

So here's my take on the sketch! 

I kept the same clean lines but added some depth with a layer of Woodgrain Bark and Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. 

My floral comes from the Wins of Hope stamp and die set.  I love the lovely chocolates that I used and the soft blue hues.  They make the perfect combo for a fall warmth with a bit of summer skies. 

For the colors, I used Dew Drops and Galactic Stream from Sweet Dreams Oval Ink pads and Milk Chocolate, Almond Butter and Hazelnut from Delectable Delights Mini Ink pads. 

Finishing off the card with a touch of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Copper Penny.  I love how the colors are beautiful together and I have no doubts that I've done a great job.

FMS #403

Hello and welcome back!

I am loving the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week, by Narelle!

Here's my take on it...

I started by grabbing some cardstock for the strips, so I went with Vellum, Dark Gray and Spicy Yogurt from Altenew Next I needed a sentiment and images for the left area, and while I wanted to use a leaf, these envelopes jumped out from the Crafty Friends stamp set. So I used it for both the sentiment and image on my card. I kept it super clean, with just a pop of color, Aqualicious in the background and Copics (BG0000 and BG01) on the envelopes.

FMS #400 week 2

Hi everyone...
Freshly Made Sketches 

Well, I just couldn't make up my mind which of the cards I made to use, so I am posting both of them.
Heres what each of them uses!

I hope you like them too...

For my first card its all about the sketch and my love of all things Altenew.com
I used their Navy and white cardstocks to create the embossed image as well as the scallop skirt!
Stamp -  Flower Vine  Altenew

Die - Creative Edges Lace Die Altenew

Since the sketch was divided and I loved that look I couldn't help but make a second...

This one has one of those simple but sweet looks about it.
By combining a simple sentiment and warm neutral colors 
I have a beautiful card without all the fuss.

Hey everyone, back again for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!
It was the perfect way for me to get back into blogging. 

For my take on the sketch, I used feathers for my main design.
The Happy Dreams stamp set from Altenew was perfect for this!

I used the watercolor set from Altenew to give my card a quick wash of color.
To finish off my card, I went with a simple gathering of flat sequins and added my watercolor paper on a black cardbase.

Freshly Made Sketches #257 - A Sketch by Jen M

Got my Bloom Box in the mail today
& FMS just posted a new challenge.
 I went to work!

Fairy World is a fantastic stamp set, from Fun Stampers Journey and I knew I had to use it!
I did go a bit rogue on this... and used my zig's, however, I used them dry! Yup! I didn't add any water and used them as markers! :)  I did a simple base in Whip Cream and background using corrugated cardstock!  I took out a bit more WC cs and cut it down to 3 3/4 by 4 1/4 which gave me lots of space around to show off my gorgeous corrugated cs! :) I added some of my own Glaze Dots (I made em') in clear, and added a bow in Black Licorice to match my ink color. Almost forgot I rounded the corners!

FMS#256 Give Thanks

Hello... I've got a super cute card and a fabulous challenge to share!
This week Jen T. has given the Freshly Made Sketches team and us! 

I used some of my Fun Stampers Journey
My cardbase is Oatmeal Cookie (love this) and my print comes from the Autumn Prints collection of 6 by 6!  Just happens that tomorrow will be the last day to purchase it... so if you love it, get it!

Up next is the Grateful Heart stamp set (there are 2 in the set) I heat embossed it, in J. White and added a touch of color with my zigs!  I die cut it with the J. Circles.  The final touches were the OMC Organza Ribbon and my homemade Glaze dots with Gold Silk.

FMS#255 Lookin' Sharp

Challenge crafty goodness to share today!

Put this together this morning for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!
I used Whip Cream as my base along with Oatmeal Cookie, and some Corrugated cardstock!
I grabbed my Deer Freinds Stamp set, from my Bloom Box and a couple of my Zig Watercolors to coloring in my little owl!  As an embellishment, I added a few of my homemade glaze dots with gold silk background! That's it... super simple!

Now this is a celebration! Freshly Made Sketches has reached the 200th challenge,

and its quite the milestone.  Congrats to the FMS design team!

As I looked through the sponsors cards, I saw a few crafty friends and CYCI very own designer Tenia's card too for one of the other teams she's on!!!

Wow.. what an honor to be included in on the fun!

I love the sketch, super simple and I kept true to the nature of the sketch!
Most of the products I used in todays card is from Simon Says Stamp!
I changed up a bit with a journal pen on the main image of the stripes, which are from SSS Sailing stamp set, and the sentiment is from Birthday Messages 3x4. I went for clean and simple, with just the Moonshine sequins also from Simon Says Stamp. My ink are Memento Black, and Stampin' Up! Melon Mambo which is a fav of my cousin who introduced me to stamping a few years back.

Well its time to get moving... I've had fun joining in this week!

Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

So Karren did this fabulous sketch, and since its one before the big one.. I had to give it a try!

My card today is for my bestie Laura, whose world was recently turned upside down, with the death of her mother. While I never had the pleasure of meeting her, I know she was one of the most important people in this world to Laura... and that's all that matters!

I've got  a simple design today... The main stamped image is from Unity Stamp Co. and its called Lift me Up! I colored it in soft grays, yellows and a bit of blue. Sequins are from Simon Says Stamp (Clear) and Doodlebug (pale blue). The I miss you tag is from Jen Hadfield, which I turned upside down, for Laura... I've got a 3 1/2 by 5 inch card base, with Smoky Slate on the bottom edge to mirror the sketch!

I hope my design will make you think about how much life can quickly change in the blink of an eye.. and that those we cherish can leave us, without saying goodbye!

FMS198 a sketch by Cindy L

Okay.. you know the deal, I'm checking out FMS today and Cindy has an outstanding sketch for us. 

So I went to work and here's what I've come up with!
I've got some older(ish) stamps from Simon Says Stamp. 

 

HAND LETTERED WINTER WISHES  14.99

and some card stock from Simon too... and stuff from Stampin' Up! too

I started by cutting my cardstock, white 120lb two pieces, and my base, in Fog Gray and the Bazzill Velvet (strip of Purple) on a background of Midnight (Black). I stamped my images in Memento Black.  My other ink is Blackberry Bliss and Smoky Slate from Stampin' Up! and my sequins are Simon Says Stamp Assorted Moonshine (Clear, mixed sizes) . Of course I could not make a card, without a splash of Wink of Stella, which I painted onto the strips on the second layer (see the stripes on the left side) ohh it sparkles, perfect!

At the last minute, I decided to add a ribbon closure, and I think it finishes it off perfectly!
