Doodle Blessings

Hi, like most things time seems to slip away from me, I wanted to post this yesterday. Anywoo, here's my most recent creation.

Doodle Blooms from Altenew

I used their watercolors (which sold out again)  along with permanent black and emboss ink as well.  I used my misty to create lots of beautiful doodle blooms and leaves. For the background, I masked off an area to add some color! The sentiment is from the Birch Land stamp set on black cardstock.
my watercolor paper is Strathmore Ready Cut Hotpress which I got from Amazon.

I did this close up to show you the details from some of the splatter and the Nuvo Midas touch glitter pen, that I received as a gift from a dear friend!

other items used, Wink of Stella Black, white card base from Hero Arts!

I hope you've enjoyed my creation

Irresistible Inking Techniques - Altenew Academy

Irresistible Inking Techniques was an interesting class.
I've done many of the tips shared, but I was surprised at how long ago I put it to practical use.

So I grabbed some cardstock and got crafty!

I used the ink block technique from class for today's project.
I started with Sea Glass, which is soft and gorgeous!  I also added some splatters in Desert Night before stamping my butterflies and sentiment both from the  Bamboo Rose set. I watercolor washed the bold yellow tones from the Pocket of Sunshine ink cube set, using Fresh Lemon and Honey Drizzle.
I mounted my card front onto a foam base to secure it firmly and it adds dimension as well.
Lastly, I added a touch of Gold Wink of Stella, gave some details to the butterflies by drawing on it with a Gel pen in white and mounted it on a blue cardbase from Hero Arts.

On a personal note: Today is day 4 without social media, I'm not gonna lie it been super hard not to go see what all my crafty friends and family have been up too, but I've got 6 more days until I complete my goal of 10 days.  I miss you all, and can't wait until March 1st.

I've also been working on my final, for my Business Law class... another challenge!

Anywho... I hope you've enjoyed my card and if you want to learn more about this class check out Altenew Academy and all the classes they have to offer!

Until next time

Layers of Letters featuring Altenew

As most of you know I've been working on my Altenew Educator certification to teach Altenew classes! Well, they've added some new classes, one is all about Dies! Yeah, me!!  Lydia Evans is the instructor, I love the way she thinks! This is just one of the many classes she has and I totally had to do it!

Here we go...
As you can see from the image below this card has lots of layers... thus the name of today's post.

Let's start with the color: you can use colored cardstock, or you can use Ink like I did.
Today's card features the brand new ink colors, called Sweet Dreams, these blues are amazing!
They come in two sizes mini ink cubes or full-size oval ink pads and they have reinkers as well.

The make me happy is the You Make Me happy mini stamp set. I masked off the "you" and inked it in the Jet Black Ink oval pad.  The letters are from the Caps Bold Alpha Die set.

The cardstock is from Altenew as well, they offer a Classic Crest Solar White in 110lbs which is perfect for any project!  I also used their 3 pack glue tape to pull it all together!

My final touches were to add some Wink of Stella Gold and to add a Hero Arts card base!

Until next time

    CYCI#99 Favorite Christmas Colors

Hey... have you ever wondered what everyone's favorite Christmas colors where?
    Well so did we!
CanYouCaseIt.com has the best challenge this week,
share a card with your favorite color combo for Christmas!

My favorite is wintery blues and bright greens! Taking back old school today!
I remember as a kid, my Tia, had these glass ornaments  in Ice blue, Turquoise, and bright greens. She had the basics too, Gold, and Silver. But that combo always reminds me of the incredible times I had growing up, and visiting her house!

Today I'm doing a simple watercolor wash and some sparkle with a touch of wonder!
My stamp comes from Fun Stampers Journey, it's called Merry and Bright! I fell in love with this stamp back in October and waited... a long long long time to use! lol...
In crafty time that was forever!

I've got my Zig Clean Color Real Brush and I did the main part of coloring, in 031, 040, 041 and 091
Then I did my splatter with my Gold Wink of Stella. Then I used a dash of  Heidi Swapp White Color Shine and Mr Huey's White for a bit of a snow effect, the two together make a for an awesome combo!
After drying with my heat tool, I ran my wc cardstock through the big shot with the cutest dies ever!!! Craftin Desert Divas has their line of dies, and I recently purchased their Fancy Frames! Its so awesome!
The final touch was to add some thread in Black to give my card a cute bow!

don't forget to check out CanYouCaseIt.com and our challenge this week!

    Until next time,

    CYCI#97 Be Inspired Challenge

This week we are doing something really different over at Can You Case It?
We have a holiday picture that folks will use as a guide in the challenge, instead of colors or a sketch!

I took the golds, whites and a touch of red and black for my card today!

I used Mr Huey's, Heidi Swapp and Wink of Stella for my splatter effect.
Along with the sentiment of Winter Wonderland from Unity Stamp Co. ...like a snowflake stamp set!
As you can see I've got some retired black ribbon from SU and Gold Thread that I picked up from Walmart.  For my cardstock, there's Doodlebug Red, and Simon Says Stamp 120lbs white.

    Until next time
    Eva

    Fallen Snow

Well this is what happens when your a paper crafter who can't get to sleep! lol...

I did this late last night/early this morning, and I really loved how the background turned out...
I started with a light blue for the background, daubing it onto the watercolor paper, and then spraying it with a bit too much water, but it worked out... Next I took out my snowflakes from like a snowflake stamp set from Unity Stamp Co. and found a sentiment I loved and a snowflake. I did the sentiment in Stazon Black, and the snowflakes in White Pigment Ink from VersaColor. I used my heat tool to dry the ink, to reduce the drying time.  It needed something, so I went to my go to dies from Simon Says Stamp, Stitched Rectangles and finished it off with a simple bow in white thread.
oh and clear Wink of Stella too!

    Until next time,
    Eva

    Got Coffee take 2

Hey I'm back with the Craftin Desert Divas Got Coffee stamp set for some more fun!

Today I worked on craft cardstock, and prismacolor white (tan and pink) colored pencils on the bear holding a cuppa joe! I used the CDD Stitched in Circle dies, and I just love them! So I brought out my SU reInkers and my Wink of Stella, and went to work, on a splatter pattern that I layered in light pink, bright pink, gold and a touch of black. Then ran it through my bigshot with SSS Rectangle stitched die. I decided to chop my black Scalloped circle layer (Simon Says Stamp Black cardstock) in half, and place them on opposite ends. Which left me with enough area to give some color too!
I added a simple pink double ribbon.
    Until next time!

    PPA267 Fall in watercolor

Today's card is for the Paper Players
with their Clean and Simple Leaves challenge!

Its been a while since I've done one of the challenges at the Paper Players... so when my friend Andrea said they had CAS and Leaves challenge I had to give it a try!

I did two little leaves using the Lawn Cuts Stitched Leaves on Spectrum Noir watercolor paper.

I used my cease pad, so that my leaves didn't cut all the way through, so I could pop up the outter edges with a mini foam tape square. I used some of my favorite fall colors, Gold Wink of Stella, Stampin' Up! reInker's Daffodil Delight, Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze on the leaves, and splattered it on the background. Then came the sentiment, which is from Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes, which has my favorite stamp "Thanks" which was done in Tim Holtz distress ink tea dye and then outlined in gold WOS.
I mounted the watercolor layer onto some craft cardstock and
added 5 droplets from Pretty Pink Posh  to finish it off.

    Until next time
    Eva

    sending you love

okay... was super busy but since I didn't do a card yesterday... I made sure that one happened!

The sentiment is the spotlight today.... Its from Unity Stamp Company called Blossoming thoughts & Wishes and my new clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh and some reInkers to do the watercolor wash, with a touch of Gold & Black Wink of Stella.
Rectangle Stitched dies from Simon Says Stamp.

    :)

    Other news...

A while back, I mentioned to my friends that I was thinking of going back to school and finish my degree, well... I've gone ahead and registered with SNHU.edu for a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Human Resource Management... I'm actually pretty excited, and I start in just under 3 weeks. Most of this week has been used getting some of the details nailed down, one of the advisers called this afternoon, and was nice to see that my about half of my other credits transferred :)  Which got me a bit ahead, not as much as I would've liked, but still in the right direction. I'm terrified and extremely excited at the same time... I should be done in just 3 years, doing 1 to classes every 8 weeks without a break.  Please keep me in your prayers.

So when you dont see me on FB or IG.... Pinterest... or otherwise... you'll know what I'm up too!

With that said, I will have to cut back on my creating during the busy times to just two or three cards/posts a week... however I may sneak an extra card or project here and there!

    :)

    Until next time
    Eva

    Watercolor Wish

This week Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes...
    with Clearly Besotted products.

I got started with my card by taking out a piece of watercolor paper and adding some light blue ink to it... and while my image doesn't show the blue very well.... its incredible!

For my Clearly Besotted product I used their stamp set Believe

I used lots of Wink of Stella in Clear (splattered) Black (splattered) and I used Gold on the little circles on the stamp, and again by hand to fill in the spots missed!

I matted my card with a layer of gray and black, along with a white cardbase in Simon's 120lbs cardstock.
I added a simple quad knot to the stem to finish it off...

    Have a great day

    Until next time

    last day to itty bitty

today is the last day to enter a card into the itty bitty challenge,
that Unity has been doing all month long.

Today's card is about two things, first I noticed when I was sorting my cards,
I really didn't have any baby boy cards and two I hadn't used my Bundle Congrats set yet!

Lisa Arana is the artist who designed the stamp, and its weird to me,
but I never paid attention to who the artist who until my friend Andrea mentioned it.

After going through my stamps, I realized that I had a lot of Lisa's without knowing it!
I guess I just like the way she thinks! lol...
I am also hoping along with Unity

Well... lets talk about my card I have a simple clean white card base Simon Says Stamp 120lbs cardstock. With the paper pad from Studio Calico Wanderlust collection.   I stamped my images, and then water colored it in blues and grays. I did a bit of the splatter in Wink of Stella Silver! I added a raised flag with the sentiment.

Well thats it for today... I think :) ya never know

    Until next time
    Eva

    CYCI#87 A Color Challenge

Love this color challenge... so many blues to chose from....
I went with Stampin' Up! Marina Mist, Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon..

While I did use my reInkers for the main area of color which is a single layer I also added the Thanks from Simon Says Stamp's Hand Lettered Winter Wishes, in Stazon black, and I went over it in Wink of Stella Black...and for my splatter too!  Then I added tons of SSS and Pretty Pink Posh sequins in Moonshine and Sparkling Clear. I added a simple black cardstock backing, mounted onto a SSS 120lbs base card!  I've kept my design clean and simple to really show off my blue colors!

    Until next time
    Eva

I've got Wink of Stella Silver for my background and lots of lovely layers!
