Let it Shine Class - Altenew Academy

Today I'm totally in my comfort zone!  I love my shimmer pens, glitter, and sparkly goodness.  For this class, we were instructed to add glitz whenever and where ever you can, so I did.  One of my favorite lessons was water-coloring with Sparkle pens, like wink of stella or spectrum sparkle. For my card today I'm totally letting it shine!

Sign up for your class today at Altenew Academy or
if you are already a member you can buy it after you log in.

Let's start with my stamped images: Garden Treasure was perfect for a card like this. Since I knew I was going to faux water-color I started by embossing each of my images in white powder.  Fussy cut them out and when to work on adding vivid colors to each piece.

In this close up you can see most of the colors I used.  Volcano Lake (Blue), Moss (Green), Velvet (Red) and Persian Blue (Blue-Green)

To create the sparkle I used my Spectrum Sparkle pen to give my images a watercolor look, with lots of shine.  I added a bit of white gel pen for some fun.

Lastly, I added the Frame Die in Gold Foil cardstock.

Additional items include
Altenew: Vellum, 110lb cardstock, Oval Die from the Create a Wreath die set,  Clear Embossing Ink.
Other brands include Spectrum Sparkle Glittle pen Clear, Gelly Roll White 10MM, Hiedi Swapp Gold Color Shine.

Thanks again for stopping by for a visit, I really hope you like my take on the Let It Shine Class!

Until next time
Eva

On to the challenge of the week!

I started by using some Color Burst by Ken Oliver on some of his Water-Media paper
Along with a Thinking of you stamp from Crafting Desert Divas, which I heat embossed in Stampendous Opaque powder!  I also wanted some shimmer so I added some Spectrum Sparkle to the layer! :) I used a brush on the area around the sentiment and a paper towel to blot the top areas!
I used some woodgrain paper from Simon Says Stamp with the Fun Stampers Journey Chevron Stencil, which I used glossy paste from Ranger!

Gus is adorable & was my helper!
He's loved the card and the treat he got for being the best helper ever!

My finished touches were so much fun lots and lots of Fun Stampers Journey Black Licorice Thread, Star frame elements colored with the new and fabulous Electric Lime Silks and SIP NY Hamptons Ice sequins!

Dea and Erii
and my grandfur babies!

I picked up some super awesomely cute digi's a bit ago, but with my classes, I don't have much time to crafty.. but I finished my assignments earlier today! Yeah crafty time!

I started with Crafting Desert Diva's love my kitty digi stamp and went to work!
I used a ton of the Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers. I also added some sparkle with a SN Sparkle pen!

I also got my new "Kitten Smitten" pattern paper form Doodlebug today, which is totally adorable!
I added some of their twine in Tangerine and some foam to lift my digi up!

I laid out my layers, and cut them together with the largest scallop die from CDD Fancy Frames!

Well that's it for today! Check back tomorrow for an exciting challenge at CanYouCaseIt.com

GDP#38 Sketch Challenge

Hey, how are you all doing today? I am doing very well, had some chatty time with Justin (from Stamp Ink Paper) and placed my first order with his new crafty company SIP!!!  Online store coming very soon...  In other news, I am waiting for the final grades to be posted... here's hoping for an A!
Butter only has a few weeks of 6th grade left, and I am looking forward to summer break, homeschool is hard! lol.. Moms need breaks too...

Anyway on to today's challenge

Global Design Project has an awesome sketch... so I went to work!

I started by stamping my larger image from the Stamp Of Approval April Kit, from Gina K. in Black. Then I took my ruler and drew lines on each side, to create the layered look... I filled in the area with blue, then black on the edge of the blue, and finished that part off with some gray to create a shadow effect!  I went back over with my marker to match my Soft Sky ink from Stampin' Up!
Next, I cut the butterfly die from Sugar Pea Designs for SOA in vellum and coated it with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter Brush pen.  I attached the layers together and finished it off with a few Atmosphere sequins from little things from Lucy's card !

Until next time
