Let it Shine Class - Altenew Academy

Today I'm totally in my comfort zone!  I love my shimmer pens, glitter, and sparkly goodness.  For this class, we were instructed to add glitz whenever and where ever you can, so I did.  One of my favorite lessons was water-coloring with Sparkle pens, like wink of stella or spectrum sparkle. For my card today I'm totally letting it shine!

Sign up for your class today at Altenew Academy or
if you are already a member you can buy it after you log in.

Let's start with my stamped images: Garden Treasure was perfect for a card like this. Since I knew I was going to faux water-color I started by embossing each of my images in white powder.  Fussy cut them out and when to work on adding vivid colors to each piece.

In this close up you can see most of the colors I used.  Volcano Lake (Blue), Moss (Green), Velvet (Red) and Persian Blue (Blue-Green)

To create the sparkle I used my Spectrum Sparkle pen to give my images a watercolor look, with lots of shine.  I added a bit of white gel pen for some fun.

Lastly, I added the Frame Die in Gold Foil cardstock.

Additional items include
Altenew: Vellum, 110lb cardstock, Oval Die from the Create a Wreath die set,  Clear Embossing Ink.
Other brands include Spectrum Sparkle Glittle pen Clear, Gelly Roll White 10MM, Hiedi Swapp Gold Color Shine.

Thanks again for stopping by for a visit, I really hope you like my take on the Let It Shine Class!

Until next time

CYCI#124 Watercolor Challenge!

Kept this week simple, and yet stunning!
Started by using Ken Oliver's Color Burst on vellum, and add a bit of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold to it!
I added a layer of white cardstock under so you could enjoy the beautiful reds, oranges, and gold tones!  Next, I matted those layers onto a black and white layer, which I used Simon Says Stamp Rectangle Stitched dies on, then placed it on my cardbase.  I was going through my tags and whatnots and found the "hi: in a bag... lol! Which is now missing... (note to self: clear desk) Moving on I added some sequins from Doodlebug to finish off my card!

I hope that you will join us for this incredible challenge!

Until next time

Wow.. its Sunday already, we had a wonderful weekend, our friends Kyle and Angela came for a visit, from the Tacoma area. Angela and I talked shop (craftiness) and what we've got on our wish lists from the latest products!  Then both families went for dinner, had a blast, and then sadly it was time for them to return home...   I can't wait til we can get up their way, I hope its very soon! We defiantly owe them a visit!

Just thought you should know from the get-go that, I love the card I did for this week!

Too funny, last week I wrote the wrong thing, and my FB crafty friend called me on it!!!

Okay.. moving on...
I've been on a CAS tend or CAS trendy... streak lately!

I used some of the newbies I got in the mail during the past week!

I am loving my Amy Tangerine doughnut rub-on pen!
I totally went rogue and did four of them (sorry Justin, master of all things crafty!)

The star of my card is the incredible Fabulous sticker
from Heidi Swapp along with the sprinkle it with sentiment sticker!

I added some Dear Lizzy enamel dots for a bit of color!

Here's everything I used, except the stapler!

Red and Kraft Challenge USC

Okay... so I was thinking tag.... so ta da!!!
My tag is made from a Ranger kraft tag and a Jillibean Soup acetate tag.
I used the KOM from January for my sentiment and stamped image, which is the heart of butterflies!
I layered on Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold, and Ranger texture paste mixed with Red ink.
I added a simple piece of thread in a neutral color!
I used my heat tool to dry the color and create waves in the tag.

Up next is my card... cause I had to make a card! It's what I do...

I started with my Craftin Desert Divas Fancy Frames die set, and lots of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold, and lots of red ink from a reInker.  I used the same butterfly heart stamp from the January KOM from Unity for the image and another sentiment from the kit!!!
I decided to go on an angle for the positioning of the sentiment and ran it back through the big shot with the die.

You can check out the awesomeness of mine and other cards/projects by joining their fb page

Paper Craft Crew #182

This class has been extremely hard this term, and I've been working my tushie off, just trying to keep up with the assignments. Psychology is making me crazy! lol... As with anything that is difficult, I'll just keep working at it, until I understand it... or die, and since I'm not dead... I guess I will survive!
Andrea and I chatted on Monday, and she mentioned that I hadn't been on Facebook for over 13 hours... lol...  I was stuck in la la land... working on my class stuff and other things on the side! I couldn't believe I hadn't been on for that long! Wow... that's a lifetime in FB time!

On to today's challenge

Paper Craft Crew has a sweet challenge for us this week!  I was chatting with Justin (fellow PCC DT member) while I was making this and we had a blast!!!  I love to crafty chat when I get the chance!
My card today features some fun new stuff (to me)
and some incredible staples you should have in your crafty stash!

I started today's card with the sketch in hand, and lots of ideas!
The first thing I thought of was the cute Sunny Skies Die and kraft cardstock base from MFTStamps and did it in a beautiful blue called Dolphin from Doodlebug!  Next I grabbed a piece of glitter paper and the thank you tag from Jen Hadfield.  I had leftover enamel dots from Echo Parks "Hello Winter" collection.
I used my favorite die - Fancy Frames from Craftin Desert Divas for my background layer and splattered a bit of Heidi Swapp Gold color shine on it!  You can see a tiny star poking out in blue (it's been sitting on my desk for a long time... not sure what cardstock it's from tehe!
For the last thing I used was something new to me... a bit of American Crafts Happy Place rub on pen!  I love the lines and color!  Last is my thread, which is coated, and I love to curl the ends!

Well that's it for today, until next time

The other dies are Simon Says Stamp Stacked Hearts, and Fancy Frames from Craftin Desert Divas.
I used a punch for the watercolored hearts in Red! Along with Foiled Vellum Stack from DCWV.

PCC178 A Sketch Challenge!

Hello, I'm back at Paper Craft Crew!
I've been cutting back on the number of challenges I am able to do because of school!
Pam has been wonderful about my availability!

For today.... I gotta say this was a tough sketch, I'd just finished my course work, and was unable to get to it.... well I was messing around with some of the cuts I'd done with my Scan N Cut, a while back, and found this adore... and thought that would awesome gold, or black.... as you can see I went with Gold, I used the sprayer from the Heidi Swapp color shine! Yep the sprayer end, and not the applicator like I do for my splatter work.

I used some washi that I had laying around, the gold heart was from Stampin' Up! and the XO is from Doodlebug.  The woodgrain paper is from Simon Says Stamp.
Next is the hearts, I cut the red one with a die and the white corrugate from Little B, with an old punch.  I added some thread and a few mini staples to complete my card!  You can see a close up below!

Well, I hope you liked my card!

Until next time

CYCI#102 A Sketch Challenge

Hey this week at Can You Case It? I've got a new sketch and a wonderful CAS card for you!

I went simple but elegant on this card! I started by cutting out my new die from Simon Says Stamp called Heart of Roses. Then I added layers of color using Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Pinks, Gold, and Silver for a vintage look.  I went through my paper pads and decided on Fancy that from My Minds Eye... and a tag from Jen Hadfield. My card base is 120# white cardstock from Simon as well.   I love the way it looks pulled all together! Easy peasy card with lots of wow!

Join us at CYCI each week for a wonderful challenge!

Until next time
Eva

Hearts and Hugs

Got my new stuff from Simon Says Stamp
For the custom background, I used my splatter technique and lots of pink ink!
I love to create my own paper using ink refills and metallics like Heidi has, it gives me pleasure to work on cards in between my class assignments... sadly I've been making cards so late at night I haven't been sharing many of them... but I wanted to make sure I shared the Hearts and Hugs one today! I think we all need a little reminder that we are loved...
Here's what I used
Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine!
Craftin Desert Divas Fancy Frames Die

I really love how this turned out! I hope you do too!
Until next time

Eva :)

    PCCC174 Sketch Challenge

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around our house.
The tree is up, the presents are stacking up and the house smells of cookies.

I hope you feel blessed, like I do!

Well now... I got some time to join the rest of the design team over at Paper Craft Crew this week!
We have a fabulous sketch for you and incredible ideas from the DT cards!

When I started this project, I wasn't happy with how things were coming along, and managed to get through several ideas, before finally coming up with this one!

Unity Stamp Co's Snowglobe Wonderland was the stamp set I used for today's card
I took the sentiment, which kind of says it all for this time of year, and the snowman which couldn't be any cuter!  I took colors from my stash from Simon Says Stamp (red & Black) and Doodlebug (green).  Along with my 120lb white cardbase.  I used a small black thread bow, and lots of Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine!

Well I've got to get back to the books, and prepare for another large paper due tomorrow!

    Until next time!
    Eva

    CYCI#99 Favorite Christmas Colors

Hey... have you ever wondered what everyone's favorite Christmas colors where?
    Well so did we!
CanYouCaseIt.com has the best challenge this week,
share a card with your favorite color combo for Christmas!

My favorite is wintery blues and bright greens! Taking back old school today!
I remember as a kid, my Tia, had these glass ornaments  in Ice blue, Turquoise, and bright greens. She had the basics too, Gold, and Silver. But that combo always reminds me of the incredible times I had growing up, and visiting her house!

Today I'm doing a simple watercolor wash and some sparkle with a touch of wonder!
My stamp comes from Fun Stampers Journey, it's called Merry and Bright! I fell in love with this stamp back in October and waited... a long long long time to use! lol...
In crafty time that was forever!

I've got my Zig Clean Color Real Brush and I did the main part of coloring, in 031, 040, 041 and 091
Then I did my splatter with my Gold Wink of Stella. Then I used a dash of  Heidi Swapp White Color Shine and Mr Huey's White for a bit of a snow effect, the two together make a for an awesome combo!
After drying with my heat tool, I ran my wc cardstock through the big shot with the cutest dies ever!!! Craftin Desert Divas has their line of dies, and I recently purchased their Fancy Frames! Its so awesome!
The final touch was to add some thread in Black to give my card a cute bow!

don't forget to check out CanYouCaseIt.com and our challenge this week!

    Until next time,
    Eva

    CYCI#97 Be Inspired Challenge

This week we are doing something really different over at Can You Case It?
We have a holiday picture that folks will use as a guide in the challenge, instead of colors or a sketch!

I took the golds, whites and a touch of red and black for my card today!

I used Mr Huey's, Heidi Swapp and Wink of Stella for my splatter effect.
Along with the sentiment of Winter Wonderland from Unity Stamp Co. ...like a snowflake stamp set!
As you can see I've got some retired black ribbon from SU and Gold Thread that I picked up from Walmart.  For my cardstock, there's Doodlebug Red, and Simon Says Stamp 120lbs white.

    Until next time
    Eva
